POLL: THE CARS OF OCTOBER
We may still be in the midst of our SEMA coverage, but I’d like to take a break from the insanity of Vegas for a bit to look back at the feature cars of October. It was another month of wildly different vehicles, and once again it’s your turn to choose your favorite in our monthly poll.
In case you need a recap, here they are -
Vote below!
-Mike
So many quality cars this month made it a really hard choice.
First time i ever voted with the majority!
Just seing to much FR-S so this month is The Drag'n Kaiser
Shuttle!
I want to say the Escort, but the Rocket Bunny FR-S.......
the R32 definitely. the rocket bunny kit is nice, but i'm more of a stock body, internals from space sort of guy. the evasive is pretty cool too but loses for the same reason
ben sopra gets an honorable mention because the kit has the character lines in front of the rear wheels, like a hakosuka or kenmeri, and i love that because the normal car doesn't
It was a tough call, but: Badbul RX8 then The Syborg and finally Evasive FRS. Really hard choice this month!
Rocket bunny got my vote, 2. besopra gtr, 3. The #featurethis ae86
Gosh Darnit This is by FAR the hardest poll i've ever had to poll. They're all so beautiful! O_O
Thanks to everyone that voted for my Kaiser. I just got back from SEMA and got an incredible response. I also really enjoyed meeting the Speedhunters crew in person.
The Syborg...so unique same as that Kaiser
If I could have any of these cars, I would take the GT300 SLS. I mean come on. Well, the Bensopra r35 perhaps...
i can't beleive the rocket bunny frs is in the lead. that car has the least amount of work done to it. So many fan boys
StephonFazalKhan As an FR-S owner, I agree. It's stock with a body kit and wheels. I voted for the Evasive car so I may be a bit of a fanboy, but the Rocket Bunny car wasn't even near my top 3.
Very very difficult . But the kaiser build has to be the one for the vote, totally not my style or my idea of a car but the amount of work, heart and soul that went into that build deserves the win!
had to be the rocket bunny!! with the evasive frs very close!
I picked the rocket bunny. The car in its original form is defanged( it has those wild lines, but no hips) and thus just seems a soulless rehash. But this kit entirely changed my mind on the looks of the car. I appreciate the work that went into the others, but anybody can build a motor, styling a kit for a car with lines like this and retaining class, let alone making it look good is quite a feat. I guess just because a book has more pages doesn't make it a better read.
It's not my style at all, but following the build of the Drag'n Kaiser and seeing what someone in their 20's was able to create from practically nothing is absolutely mind-blowing. Forget these shop-prepared cars. That car is the real deal!
So many JDM choices... >.<
Please don't let the Rocket Bunny win. The absolute LEAST amount of work went into that car.
ChristianClark ..but sometimes it's the least straining ideas and concepts that have the greatest impact! I find the design changes significant as all future designs (on 86/FRS/BRZ) will have to compete with it. That's nothing but remarkable.
maxproof ChristianClark But impact solely based on a body kit (asthetics) is pretty stupid and short lived. The particular car is this decades '95 civic with a "real" bomex body kit.
Pretty superficial.... a bit like this Hilton girl.
@AceAndrew2 @maxproof @ChristianClark I guess you know a certain car that became recognised all over the world thanks to a certain secret agent named James Bond? Starts with an A, ends with a 5. Try finding out something "amazing" or "technically brilliant" about it ;) Still it's an icon. Don't get me wrong: The Rocket Bunny kit is nothing compared to a DB5 but ..its the aesthetics that made this car what it is.
maxproof AceAndrew2 ChristianClark That Aston DB5 is a GORGEOUS car. But we're talking about comparing the RB FRS to the Drag'n Kaiser, sorta like comparing Justin Bieber to The Who. One's fresh, new, easy and shallow and the other is timeless soul and hard work that resonates for years. I want a FRS dont get me wrong but just buying a kit and slapping it on doesn't equal a completely unique build.
ChristianClark maxproof AceAndrew2 But that's Miura San's own car. He didn't buy the kit and slap it on, he DESIGNED the fvcker, prototyped it, put it into production... and then smashed the market to bits with it (and if there's any justice he'll make a fortune). When was the last time the mainstream was offered something this good... and had the good taste to go for it? That's no small achievement. That makes Rocket Bunny more like the Beatles than Bieber and/or The Who.
tenpennyjimmy ChristianClark maxproof
I understand he designed it, but for what? You also need to understand he tackled just one portion to the car.... in my eyes it's nothing more than a stock car with a rather cheesy body kit (albiet with a short lived "cool" factor). At least the Evasive FRS has been pretty well re-engineered (to say nothing of the other cars this month.).
Got a good chuckle at the DB5 reference... think it had a bit more going for it than just being sexy.
ChristianClark I still went with the Drag'n Kaiser ;) although there's nothing i'd particulary "want" about it. It's just an amazing work. In Germany we say "Kunst kommt von Können", which means "Art derives from (handcrafting) mastery". This is so true for this one ..
Went with the Rocket Bunny cause that kit seems like it's going to shape the frs brz gt86 whatever aftermarket scene
hard set to pick from. I went with the rustbucket for its just a whole different kind of import
syclone with the escort a close second
had to go with the 510, the corolla was clean! the rocket bunny frs really had me in the previous article especially with the wheel choice, but the 510 was a beautiful mixture of the two for me, clean, track worthy, and street driven.
Mad mikes rx8 for sure just so original not copied or trying to follow a trend just done in his own taste and worked out perfectly> espicially if you have heard this beast!!!
Rocket Bunny is winning, seriously? Shame speedhunters... just look at the work put into some of the other cars this month, makes the FRS look like a lego project in comparison. Truly some amazing cars this month.
AceAndrew2
not speedhunters that need shamed. its the readers that are voting for it.
so obviously its the readers choice currently. but not yours.
thats the whole idea of a poll...
@yup2 Trololololol
AceAndrew2 You're right, this is what I was trying to convey (but obviously struggled to do so).
AceAndrew2 Seriously disappointed also. There are so many other cars with so much more thought and work put into them. And I love the FR-S/86/BRZ more than any other car right now, but you gotta give credit where credit is due.
Had to go with rocket bunny, all of them are amazing but rockets car is the best FR-S I have seen, that's saying something when everyone and their mom is building the same thing.
hardest poll yet by far but i had to go with the drag'n cruiser just because we all saw how much work went in to it from start to finish
impossible to choose. couldn't do it. thanks for linking to the articles. good way to summarize the month's features.
NOOOOOOO this is waayyyy to hard. all those cars are incredible!!! I'm voting for the kaiser, based on the type of build, being that we don't get lots of custom bodywork on speedhunters.
Kaiser was my choice.
Idk I just loved that wagovan at first sight. Had to go with it.
I love them all and I love JDM buuuuut... the GMC Syborg is just so different and cool.
Had to go Rocket Bunny...
