Gatebil has this peculiar trait of serving you up new and amazing things, just when you think you have seen it all. We arrived on Thursday evening and the whole team spent every minute of the next three days seeking out the best cars for feature shoots. Come Sunday afternoon, I was quite confident that [...]

While every visit I make to Japan brings with it the chance to uncover some amazing machinery, I equally enjoy meeting the people behind these cars and hearing their stories. One person I met on my most recent trip was Teruhisa Inoue, the owner of the wicked looking B110 Nissan Sunny you see here. Teru-san [...]

Both Paddy and myself pretty much died and went to heaven when we saw the trio of quattro cars at Ultimate Dubs last weekend. The vehicles owned by James Dorey, Dave Rowe and Hamish White have all been home-built. A truly mind blowing amount of dedication has been put into these Audis and I am [...]

As I was making my way around Osaka Auto Messe last weekend, taking in the crazy VIP cars and other custom machines that filled the halls, I spotted an in interesting shape out of the corner of my eye. I wasn’t exactly sure what I saw at first, but as I got closer I realized [...]

As you saw during my “Photo Attack” last week, the JCCA New Year Meeting is the mecca of vintage Japanese car culture. With so many amazing vehicles gathered in one place, picking favorites is nearly impossible. Even so, there were still a few cars which made a big impression on me, and one of them [...]

I thought I’d spice this celebration of all things Mazda Roadster/Miata/MX-5 with a look at a car that remains one of the most memorable NBs I have ever driven. The year was 2004, and Mazda set up a cool drive event of a bunch of new limited edition Roadsters which, on top of the limited [...]

Across much of the world, the long winter is creeping closer and closer. Days are getting are shorter and colder, and many have retreated to their garages and workshops to prepare vehicles for next season. Nowhere is this truer than in Northern Europe. One exciting build that we’ve recently caught wind of is from KRB Trading in Norway. Kai Bakken and KRB are most known for their Group B style Audi Quattro that terrorizes Gatebil events, but this build is shaping up to be equally amazing.

There could not be a harder task than choosing a single favorite car at SEMA. I’m sure each one of the thousands of people that came through the show doors this week all have a different idea of what the “best is”, but I think I’ve made my pick. It’s the T-5R Martini Mustang from Pure Vision Design.
A ’66 Mustang Fastback may not be be a bold choice in terms of platform, but once you see this thing I think you’ll know why it’s at the top of my list. Known as the T-5R, the car takes the motorsport heritage of the early Mustangs and creates something at a completely different level altogether.

In the eyes of a Speedhunter, the SEMA Show is absolute overload. There are likely hundreds of cars spread across the show which could all be deemed spotlight-worthy, but part of the challenge is narrowing it down to the cars absolutely need to be shared. Sean, Larry, and myself have plenty of SEMA spotlight specials to come, but I’d like to begin with a look at once machine that grabbed my attention as I passed by the Toyo Tire booth this morning.

As each year passes it seems the world is populated by more and more truly mind-blowing car builds. Now I’m not positive if it’s the vehicles themselves that keep getting better, or if it’s simply the the growth of the internet allowing us to uncover them so easily. Whatever the case. it’s great fun to [...]

It’s been a couple of years since I last visited Snetterton. Coincidentally, it was for the same event – the Time Attack Series finale which still ranks easily in my top five events that I’ve ever covered for the big SH. The memory of watching Gareth Lloyd taking the championship on the last lap of [...]

When putting together this post, I knew that I wanted to show you variety rather than the absolute best cars on display. The latter of course would be too subjective anyways so I thought that you would get a better overall picture of the cars present. There were a lot of cars present on the [...]

As far back as I can remember, Ireland has always had a big Japanese car scene. During the Celtic Tiger era, there were modified Japanese cars being imported from Japan by the RoRo boat load, and I’m talking extensively modified and respected tuner cars from HKS, Works 9, BN Sports and many others. We had [...]

During one my early morning visits to Bonneville I was making my way across the expanse of the pit area in my car when I spotted a strange looking shape in the corner of my eye. From a distance it looked like a pretty wild VolksRod so I drove towards it to get a better look.

The humble Ford Ka isn’t usually the first car that comes to mind when you think of performance cars. For our non-European readers who may not be familiar, the Ka is a small front wheel drive city car which has been around since 1996. Of the different variations, the SportKa with its 1.6 litre 8-valve [...]
