Historically, France is a country where the car has been witness to great know-how, technological vanguard, great sporting moments and a shared passion for almost 150 years. Even if the glory years seem behind us, it’s clear that the flame that drives our mechanical passion is far from dying! The Classic Days is a unique [...]

88 laps and 15 hours might not sound right for a 24-hour race, but combine the Nordschliefe and the horrific conditions we’ve had this weekend and it’s a miracle that many were completed… The #9 Black Falcon Mecedes-Benz SLS AMG crossed the line at 5pm to take the three-pointed star’s first win at the Nürburgring [...]

As a first generation Chinese American, I grew up in a household where my parents listened to classical music and opera. I played the piano and of course I hated it. I did not get to watch movies in theatres until I was twelve years of age. My parents were not square, they were just adapting slowly [...]

Since the 60’s, Bathurst has hosted some of the most gruelling racing ever held on Australian soil, with the Bathurst 1000 running each year, as well as 12 and 24 hour races held at various times in the past. The past few years have seen the interest in the 12 hour race reach new heights, [...]

Putting the speed in Speedhunters, our motorsport coverage in 2012 was as varied as ever. The nominations for this award have been compiled by taking the top ten most popular motorsport events (based on the largest volumes of web traffic through our doors) and adding in five wildcards which we believed were worthy of nomination. The nominations are …

The #IAMTHESPEEDHUNTER program has been running for just over a month now and has grown much faster than we anticipated. Rather than be buried beneath the huge number of submissions we get, we’ve decided to get on top of it and show more love to you guys and girls. We’re going to be bringing you more regular updates from the IATS hashtag, where you provide the content and we’ll provide the stage. If you want to know more about #IAMTHESPEEDHUNTER and how to get involved, there’s a short blurb at the end of this post. Anyway, let’s hear about what Speedhunters’ reader Paul Eckelman got up to at the recent Speed Festival in San Diego. – PMcG.

This upcoming weekend is considered by many to be the greatest weekend for race fans all year.

To finally wrap up our Berg Cup Eschdorf coverage, I’ve put together a variety of desktops for you. I’m actually sort of sad writing this as it means I now have to move on to the next event. Fair enough, the next event is the Nürburging 24HR so it’s not exactly a bad thing (Speedhunter problems) but I’ve got to say I really enjoyed shooting and talking to you about the Eschdorf event. We will be covering more of these events throughout the course of the year including Wolsfeld later this month and Oberhallau in August. It won’t come around soon enough …

To the average Joe, this car looks like a normal run-of-the-mill Mercedes Benz W123. But I wouldn’t feature this machine unless it has something special right? It’s only when you take a closer look, you’ll start to notice that there are some big differences to a standard example. This becomes especially apparent when you look [...]

NASCAR. The word alone is one of the most divisive terms in the automotive world. Some folks can't get enough of it, while others hate everything about it. Few, if any of us on the Speedhunters staff consider ourselves to be hard core NASCAR fans, yet we all agreed that visiting a NASCAR race in [...]

When we talk about time attack cars, we usually find ourselves focusing on the monster that run in the higher classes of competition. But as impressive as cars like Rado’s Scion or the HKS CT230R are, they bear little resemblance to the cars that everyday dudes can afford to build. That’s just one of the [...]

Well, the streets of the Long Beach waterfront have ceased to be a racing circuit and are now to back to being just…..streets. It's been a great couple of weeks in the LBC, and I want to wrap up my Grand Prix of Long Beach of coverage with some final photos and observations from both [...]

The SCCA World Challenge series has one of the most diverse grids in motorsports, with everything from Aston Martins and Vipers, to Civics and Scions competing in the series' three different classes. Without a doubt, two of the most unique cars in the series are a pair of Volvo S60 AWD's campaigned by K-Pax Racing. [...]

Now to continue Grand Prix of Long Beach coverage with some race action from the American LeMans series. The last time I'd shot ALMS was at Laguna Seca last year, so I'd had an itch for some sports car action for a while. What better place to take in some American Le Mans than on [...]
