Even when you’re standing on the salt watching a 300+ MPH streamliner pass you by from half a mile away, it’s hard to realize just how fast the darn car is traveling. Luckily, there has been big advances with onboard video cameras and the land speed team, Poteet and Main, plastered ReplayXD cameras all over their streamliner, the Speed Demon, as they made a 462MPH pass at Bonneville. It’s already amazing to see a full run in a streamliner from the cockpit, but its even more amazing to see the full run in so many different camera angles.

There are moments when 400+ MPH seems completely peaceful and serene, but once the parachute kicks out, the truth of just how fast that long hunk of car was moving strikes home.
