Car Life>> Lost In London – Pt.ii

Picking up where I left off yesterday, we continued south (I think) still along Park Lane. Next up was this fetching F430 Spyder sitting somewhere nearish Buckingham Palace. I always preferred the F430 over the F360 but having recently seen two F458s at seperate shows, I think the newest Ferrari has stolen my heart. The previous cars (360 & 430) look almost, I don't know, ordinary beside the 458. It really is an incredible looking car.

This GT3 looked absolutely menacing in black with black with black wheels.

Whilst this Exige looked a little out of place amongst the regular traffic.

Whilst maybe not entirely exotic, the E46 M3 still looks (and sounds) like all good M series cars should.

The Fiat 500 Abarth was probably the most realistic of all the cars we spotted.

Not a bad company car …

I was unaware that a new Range Rover had been released. Apparently it's called the 'ParkWhereEverYouDamnWellLike'

I love the sound of V10 in the evening …

DB9 Volante. I still don't think I'd ever drive a soft top though (Not like I'd ever a DB9 down but still)

Now this is a pretty car, the new Ferrari California.

Across the road was this GT3 RS.

Just another one of those 599 GTB's …

Except this one had a rather interesting birthmark …

I think the C63 AMG looks so much better in a darker colour.

After a bit of a detour, we finally arrived at Harrods where this SLS was awaiting it's owner.

I'm unsure about the new SLS, I just don't think it'll be held in the same esteem as the 300SL. What do you think ?

This dark purple R8 on black wheels looked sinister. The Quattroporte behind it wasn't too bad either.

A GT Continental in the wild …

The GT3 RS from the first post on a run to the shops. Must be a tough life !

Judging by the plate, the GT3RS with the wing in the last shot must be owned by someone with a LOT of money.

2

why are there so many cars with UAE plates?

3

did you really see all these cars just walking around london? thats crazy!

4

UAE people have all the crazy highly expensive tuned cars

5

I lived in London for two years. Around Knightsbridge, Chelsea etc it's insane how an M3 becomes a peasants car

6

That Rangey looks like it's butted-up against the 5 series... I would not be impressed!

Great shots of some awesome exotica.

7

Are you f**king kidding me??? This is a PLAYGROUND!!!! Take me with you next time Mr McGrath!!!!!!!!!!

8

thats not the real Range rover,

it's the range rover sport

9

nice i was the first HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

10

I'm I the only one that noticed that most of these shots are desktop-section material?

Any more pics of the Exige would be welcome!

Great work!

11

oh how the other half live! lol

12

I went to London this summer, I spotted a white Bugatti Veyron, I wanted to take a photo with my iPhone, but it was already gone ... : ]

I live near Geneva and you can also see lots of wonderful cars there in front of the palaces ...

13

In UAE number plates cost more than the actual car. If you own a ferrari over there, you must own exclusive number plate, without it car is worthless... even a ferrari:)

14

I would rock the snot out of a Fiat 500 Abarth!

15

Fantastic pictures.

17

Paddy, this is what speedhunting is all about. Grabbing a light capture device and heading into the wild to shoot some very fine specimens.

Love the coverage, wish I lived somewhere with even half as interesting automobiles!

Keep it up, and a huge thanks.

18

The purple R8 is so bad ass you barely notice any other car around it

19

why do I get the feeling that the owners of these amazing cars,

are all probably bloody idiots?

20

A bit of a boring post to tell you the truth.

London is filled with filthy rich people......so no surprise there.

Although those cars are not average or generic, we all know those cars (people that are into cars). We've all seen them, in real life and/ or magazine, TV, video and what not.

Speculating that Arabs own a lot of money is a safe bet, although a bit discriminating.

You might want to cover those licence plates (like Dino does all the time); so none of us would be able to de-code them (not that it matters), but to Dino, it seems that it does.

21

I personaly love the SLS! In fact I've never in my life lusted after any Mercedes so much intil the SLS.

My god that's a proper amount of hot metal...... Although, I too the last time I was in London spoted a fair amount of Exotics sporting UAE (or are they Saudi?) number plates.

Do these guys take alot of road trips to London or somthing?

22

You don't know what is have a Volante.

Is like have the best experience of car without roof.

23

concerning That little birthmark on that 599, i just so happen to have on my Mazda Tribute ES-v6 in South Bend Indiana USA. Kinda nice seeing as majority of the people in the states have no idea what it means, and the fact that ive been there, driven on it, and im only 20 years old, is cool to hold against everyone else on the road,

24

A car thiefs dream!

25

If you were taking pictures of my extraordinarily expensive piece of exotica and left my numberplate in plain view for all the world to see I'd be pretty pissed.

Just a thought...

26

come to my city we all drive HONDA hahaha

27

@Larry: These people are flying their cars to other countries for driving tours.....or whenever they feel like having breakfast in UK and still want to drive their own cars

28

Those are qatar and saudi arabia (ksa) plates qatar is the new money in the GCC now

29

haha!! i love the comment about the range rover!! made me laff...! nice coverage btw i think the sls looks nice in that e-cell yellow colour (minus all of the eco bull!)

30

Please, no more desaturated photographs!

31

Except that's not a UAE plate. It's Qatar.

32

i liked this post.. i like and love cars of all kinds, i must agree with Alex though cover those plates up in the pics and London is rich people heaven, we know 'these' cars 'cos we love cars.. no brainer.. ...and Yes a lot Dubai reg cars are in and around the Big City.. - nice pics though..

33

Uh, extensive curb rash on M5 wheels... :-(

34

Every summer rich young Arabs freight their cars to London so that they can drive them around. Its the done thing if you're a rich young prince from the Middle East apparently.

35

I would totally stick with the SLS.

36

some of the photography is great here! really like the sls pictures. ive been down london a couple of times and ive seen a yellow r8

37

Laughing at the people telling Paddy to blank out number plates on cars: Don't be stupid, are the number plates a secret? No. Do thousands of people pass the cars with the number plates on show? Yes. Is anyone really going to clone a GT3 RS? Unlikely.

If the car is in public, then the owner is obviously happy to have the car in public. It's not like they buy them to be discreet.

38

the abrath! =)

39

Evary one 'cept for SLS is a womans car!

40

Honestly we've seen those cars, pretty much every single day in the States... Try do a roll at the 1st Thursday of the month... in ATL... You'll see countless... ha!

41

spotted my first 458 while walking around Oxford street today, a red RHD one with a recaro baby seat in the passenger side!

42

Great photos. I love how color rich each shot came out. Btw, tell the F430 and DB9 that those two ladies can get lost in my garage any time. :D

43

basically the every summer the midddle east flock here with their families to get all the fashion at its peak and since its too hot during their summer they come over here all the time and since they have the money and they LOVE to show off summer in central london has all the exotic cars especially in the well tourist populated areas

as for part one the dorchester hotel always have flash cars there check out google map and theres even a phantom in it!!lol

but next paddy from there you should goto south kensington to the lambo show room, then too the old brompton road to hr owen where they have ferrari's maserati then if you go south of ther river to wandsworth you have joe macrae which store some serious cars!!! from extreme to your 430s then behind that you have chelsea cars which has all the classics old 911 rs and sl's to db5!!

check it out

44

I think the new SLS has a roofline only a moither could love...

45

All very fine you guys saying .. 'I seen that before' - 'there's loads where I live' ... Take it from this point of view, paddy usually goes to a car show takes pictures and goes to some race days and takes some more. But in this he has shown us his day off, the cars outside some of our lives (Country Irish people) that never get to see these cars in the flesh. These cars are not setting lap times on the day or not enclosed at a show. These cars probly had to pick kids up from school, go to the shop to buy bread or bring the owner to work. These cars have work to do.. There in the wild, in the jungle of London, looking so beautiful!

46

my eyes hurt from your photochoping... overdone with the vibrance

47

the world and his dog have personal plates in the uk.. especially in london, there only like 300 quid..

anyone see the new owners or Harrods cars outside with clamps on them? i was going home on the bus when i saw it.. wtf! 2 sky blue rude boys just chillin with yellow clamps... too funny!

im sure they could scrape the barrel to up the cash some how lol.
