Gallery>>more Car Sightings In Japan

I want to take a quick break from my Nismo Festival coverage to post up a some more snapshots of interesting cars I've spotted over the past couple weeks. First off, we have this cool two-tone kei van I saw in the parking lot at Tsukuba Circuit. I didn't get a look at the front, but I'm guessing it has the popular VW bus conversion on it. I think something like this would be the perfect daily driver around here.

In contrast to the kei van is this Porsche Carrera I saw here in Tsukuba City the other day. The car appeared stock besides the giant rear spoiler, but still looked mean as it was cruising through traffic.

Went for a drive near Hakone last weekend and saw this beautiful Aston Martin DB4 (?) heading out for a drive on one of the area's scenic mountain roads. Talk about something to aspire to…

This wide-body CE1 Honda Accord Wagon resides at an apartment building near my place. The car is a little too wild for my tastes, but an interesting find nonetheless. Seeing this car gets me all nostalgic about the Accord Wagon I drove before I came to Japan last year.

A couple weeks ago I was driving down the road when a set of HID headlights came up quickly from behind. Turns out they belonged to this cool DR30 Skyline RS Turbo and I was able to take a quick snapshot while sitting behind it at a traffic light. If you look closely you can see the roll cage inside, which hints at this the car's specs. I tried to get catch up with him to get a better photo, but my 86 horsepower Honda Fit was no match for the quick-driving DR30.

And in closing, we have this Z31 Fairlady that was parked in the hotel garage on the morning of the Nismo Festival. Obviously it belonged to one of the many Nissan enthusiasts who brought their prized machines along for the trip to Fuji Speedway…

2

The van on longchamps is COOL.

3

Wow, a DB4 in Japan?! Beautiful! That micro-micro bus is cool too.

4

a 911 is not a 911 without a HUGE rear spoiler...

5

Finally!!!! A Z31 on Speedhunters*!!!!!

*Minus the feature on the z history

Ok, now we just need to focus on getting a second generation Z31, not the ugly first generation!

6

Wow those Longchamps look great on that van.

7

another amazing post! more more more!!!

You should head on over to the Tachikawa and Fussa-shi area on route 16. Yokota AFB is also located over there too. You'll definately see some nice cars over there. The base also holds an annual car show for the japanese and people on the base....Not to mention there is an Up-Garage near that area and a SuperAutobacs. Just a thought lol

9

coolest van ever.

10

That Z31 is TITS. The Kei van is nice too, definitely a cool car.

11

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's a DB6, not 4.

12

it's a DB5 actually but they're virtually the same machine, just some minor differences here and there ;D so wild to see something like that in japan!

.

and a popular base for the vw bus conversion is the Subaru Sambar, but this isn't one, i'm wondering what it could be?

13

If the hood scoop on that Z31 is origional, it looks to be a rare early 200zr (rb20 powered). I'm not sure if the early 300zrs came with the same hood scoop.

14

actually i suck it looks like a DB4... the tails say DB5 to me but the front obviously doesn't match

15

great work as usual!

16

That 911 belongs to Tetsuya Shima. Yeah. I watch too much 'Wangan Midnight'

17

these are some of my favourite posts on SH, cheers Mike, keep the randomness coming!

I love the DR30! :P

Also the Z31 is very nicely done too. No standing out too much.
