While there were some truly amazing machines unveiled in Geneva this week, I’m not sure if anything could touch the LaFerrari in terms of pure excitement. Among the short films Ferrari has released about the car is this little clip highlighting the LaFerrari’s lineage and development.

The future for BMW starts here. New car, new name, potentially a new benchmark. The images of the 4-series Concept that have been released today are a hint that BMW is taking this new generation of their hottest selling coupe very seriously. Design-wise the similarities with its sedan counterpart, the all-new 3-series that we have already driven this year, end at the front end – the 4-series boasting a far more aggressive, sleeker, much wider and obviously sportier design. Despite this being a concept, the 4-series is almost production ready, you can expect some toning down of the complex front and rear bumpers, but aside from that, this is pretty much what will be hitting the floor at your local dealer in 2013. And with anticipation for its release comes obvious anticipation for the range topper, the M3 – no wait, the M4! Confusing stuff this name changing malarkey. But badges aside, we all know the M-version of the “4″ could potentially pave the way for a new generation of sports cars in this segment.

Old RS6 owners might take some persuading, after all the previous generation car with its phenomenal twin-turbocharged V10 is a very tough car to follow. But, like lots of manufacturers out there, Audi is on a pretty evident downsizing movement with its engines so it’s no surprise that the motor in the new RS6 has lost 1-liter and a pair of cylinders in the quest for more “efficiency.” So while the charismatic V10 howl that accompanied the old RS6 may be gone, there has been only a small power drop as the 4L twin-turbo V8 develops 11 HP less than the V10, with 560 HP on tap. However there is more to this new engine than power figures…
