The second car pictured in this page is the Dick Carter '65 Shelby GT-350. It's one of the most period correct cars on the grid. This car was the class of the B-Production field in the Northern California SCCA region.
That's not just any Cortina, it's a Lotus Cortina. Very rare and expensive now.

I think vintage F1 is so appealing because the cars are so raw, there are few safety features, just some wheels and an engine. it's balls-to-the-wall speed. the sport is still extreme, but not as crazy (but not as fatal, either) as it used to be
