A Wild Horse In France… With Baguettes

What do you get when you combine narrow side streets, quaint cafes and a rip-roaring Ford Mustang? You get this video, which features our buddy Vaughn Gittin Jr. having some fun in France.

I can virtually guarantee that baguettes have never been featured so prominently in an automotive film!

I have to say it, a waste of amazing breading. The drifting is cool, but not when destroying the amazingly tasteful baguette.

2

Oh come on, you can't tell me that no baguettes were harmed in the making of this?! Can somebody please think of the baguettes!!!

3

As Vice-president/CEO/Founder/Club House Owner/Member Fourteen Times Removed/Janitor of the SPCB I am disgusted with the way that some of these beautiful baguettes were treated in the making of this video and I respectfully ask that others do not treat them as shown here. I commend you on your drifting skill but please do not be so abusive to the baguettes and use them for their proper use. To feed people who need their daily amount of carbohydrates.

4

Jr eating a baguette under his helmet mid-drift...LOL

5

EricSeanDelaney For some reason, I also felt sad for the bread for the entire video. Although that may have something to do with the fact i haven't eaten lunch yet.

6

Fix your suspension! Your car rolls too much...

7

Floz EricSeanDelaney Other people does not even have bread for their usual needs.. It is very  challenging to do this.....and it's a shame too. They could have been replace the bread with something else....

Disappointed.

8

I would not even be bothered to comment this....

9

GregoryS Floz EricSeanDelaney I live in South Africa and some poor people throw away perfectly good sandwiches which were given to them.

I just think knocking some bread around was most likely disrespectful to those locals though. He did pay for them though...

Do u not think hed know a thing or 2 about suspension setup? Drifting is not all about rockhard suspension but with a name like that ud know this

RacingPast I see your point and i believe you're right in a way BUT as you said, knocking some bread is disrespectful. We live in a very difficult times, i think you see the bad sight of things everyday in the place you live. The majority of people in Africa they are suffer from starvation.
I would do that drift event in Africa to raise money for the people there. This is how they must thinking about racing these days. To help people and communities.

Dear Mr. Gittin,
you are a very skilled and experienced drifter. So far so good.
But wasting Baguette (food!) just for cheap effects? Come on!
If you're really that good a precision drifter - you should have lined the
track with bottles of great French wine and tried to get as close as possible
WITHOUT hitting them. That would have really showcased your skill...

Hi,
I really liked this video, but here in France, we have sort of "religion" with bread.
And I didn't like it smashed by a car for a video even if this is not important.
The idea to transport baguettes as a passenger in seat of a drift car is better, maybe had the "baguette vision" with little cam..
I had preffered to see people "like" in streets wich are a lot I think because "we" (the french) love Mustangs.
Have a nice day (sorry for my poor english)

WOW

17

Bienvenue chez nous!

18

No hills in Bretagne....what a great place for parking drifters ...

19

I never knew the french were so passionate about wasting food. The fact they all dislike the harmed baguettes is interesting to me. From now on I will never let a baguette in my possession to go to waste. One guy even suggested drifting by wine bottles but not hurting them. This is my kind of people!

20

THAT

is a well made, nearly perfectly crafted, totally stupid clip...

-Drifting... nice
-Landscape... cool as well
-Suddenly stopping to put some bread on the passenger seat and trying to hit other bread...

Wait what- what was the last point? Whose stupid feverish dream was that?

VictorVanderpooten

Stupid "baguette" cliché
We have other thingg than food in France.Like castles, monuments and a lot of others

22

VictorVanderpooten Yes, but French baguettes are so damn good though. Plus I don't think drifting in a castle or monument would go down very well. Though drifting circles 'round the Arc De Triumphe would be pretty fun.

23

where was the beret?!

24

VictorVanderpooten The number 1 thing you guys should be proud about: Renault (+alpine)! ;)

25

Oh wow all the frenchies are so butthurt over some bread

26

Welcome home Man ! ;)

27

Nick Elias VictorVanderpooten
Yeah but Renault has a bad reputation these days in France because of the poor quality of their Diesel engines.
It's sad, because they're really good for the hot hatches they made like the Clio V6, Mégane RS F1, or others.
Personnally, I would like to see Renault and PSA trying something different, like an FR sports car, or a little mid-engine car like the Clio V6 or the R5 Turbo, because it's the only thing we lack of compared to the rest of the world. We don't have a good FR car since the A610 Turbo.

28

Liked the video a lot, some of those drifts were so long I left the room, cooked some crepes (which I stepped on after), came back and he was still sliding!

Afterwards I ran over a bunch of bread and laughed maniacally while I revved my gas guzzling V8 which runs on the tears of crying french men. Mwahahahaha!

29

seatbelts.....use it! heheheheheh

30

@1:18 is that handbrake or the wheel stopped due to camera stabilisation?

32

Pancakes handbrake

33

wtf.....

34

RacingPast I think ASD knows a thing or two about building top tier drift cars...

35

Hanma RacingPast It was a joke. I guess a bad one at that. In some countries baguettes are called rolls... Hence my original statement. I have no problem with the car's suspension.
