As I did last month with the JCCA New Year Meeting, I figured that the best method for covering the parking lot at Osaka Auto Messe would be a “photo attack” showing as many cool machines as I possibly can. I think that by looking through this massive selection of photos, you’ll get a reasonable idea of the sort of machines you’ll find on the streets of Kansai.
Before I begin, a quick little note. When I arrived at Auto Messe on Sunday afternoon with the intent to hunt the parking lot I realized that I my SLR camera battery behind at my hotel some 40 minutes away. Uh oh.
So with light beginning to fade and cars starting to head home, I improvised and put my trusty iPhone4S into service as the weapon for this photo attack, so please excuse the less than “amazing” quality of these photos. Anyway, let the attack commence!

Nice photo roll here, I could imagine you running around the whole lot. It's tough to pick one I liked. However the car I least expected to see in that crowd was the Corvette and that was a simple and nice surprise. Secondly, looks like EF's are getting meaner in the land of the rising sun...

just because they are from japan, doesn't mean they immediately have class. One day the Japanese will be able to modify an American pick-up right.

as I can tell, those trucks are 2WD. a truck that is 2WD should be left the way it is. But 4WD and that thing should be getting offroad mods.

@bigeastbay Yep they're 2WD, you can't lay out 4WD's. Why should a 2WD truck be left the way it is?

I grew up in an area where 2WD trucks were used for work and hauling. I guess I can't see the point in really modifying one because the goal of that truck is to be used and abused. If it is modified in this way, as in slammed, which is a style I respect on cars, it deters the owner from using the truck for its purpose

@bigeastbay Haha yeah and cars weren't originally intended for racing were they, they were simply intended to carry people from point A to B. But hey, look at the multitude of uses they have now!

@Curlytop That thing is raw.
@DaveT @bigeastbay Fuckin' right dude. LOL I wouldn't want to be behind that with an active oil leak.
I take it you guys don't get too many Landcruiser's in the State's Mike?
@greenroadster Nissan Primer (P10) aka 1st-gen. Infiniti G20 in the States.
@NicholasTylerStokes Always.
How do you take such great photos with a phone?! I can't even tell which is which. Any tips please?
@bigeastbay No necessarily.
@BenjaminSaucier EFs were always mean in the land of the rising sun. What you see are the left-overs from the bygone kanjo racer era.
That white and black S15 made my pants bulge.
@bigeastbay That's one of the biggest fallacies ever. A lowered 2WD truck looses none of it's towing or hauling capability...unless you plan on hopping curbs and going off road on the regular. And in that case, you should have a 4WD in the first place. Heck until the early 80s, a full size America car was more than capable of doing what you need a Full size truck to do now as far as towing, and in many cases hauling.
Do the top half of the photos look mostly like american built cars to anyone else? This photo roll got real after the halfway point for me

@rook56 Haha, there's nothing to it really. Just hold her steady and compose a decent shot. In a way it's actually a bit refreshing not having to worry about focal lengths or any other camera settings haha.

@RBJET We have them, but you don't see them too often. Then again, they aren't especially common on the streets of Japan either.

@jzx81 I'm not sure if it's got an Audi vibe, but the Primera has always had a rather European feel to it.

Talk about a staggering amount of VIP-themed cars! Wow. Only in Japan can you have static ride height like some of these cars...
Yep, Osaka is like it's own VIP world.
@Censport I think they sell them in Mexico!
@D1RGE EXE I've wondered the same thing myself sometimes while driving around the crazy narrow streets. If there's a will, there's a way!
@NicholasTylerStokes More on the way
There's a WRX beside that GX71 Mark II. Anyway, that Corvette caught me off guard!
