This Sunday race fans across both the USA and the world will be tuning in for the 2012 edition of the "Great American Race" – the Daytona 500. As we gear up for Daytona, we thought it would be fun to post up a few historic Daytona 500 moments. One of the most incredible finishes in Daytona history came in 1976 as legends Richard Petty and David Pearson battled it out on the final lap of the race.

Stock car racing enthusiasts will know what happened next, but here's the drama that played out on those final laps back in '76.
