Photos Of The Year 2010>>mike Garrett Part One

Welcome to December! With the coming of the last month of 2010, all of us Speedhunters go through our photos and choose our favorites or the most memorable images of the year.

Let's get right to it. Here's my first batch, spanning from January through April.

(above) Walden Speed Shop, Pomona, California. My visit to Walden Speed Shop was an interesting one. Rod handled, the "reporting" duties while I did nothing but snap photos using his array of cool lenses. Sometimes it's amazing what nice glass can do!

Redline Time Attack, Buttonwillow Raceway California. For some reason I always get good shots of the Evasive Motorsports Evo time attack car. Always.

Starlite Garage, Torrance California. The sunlight of a beautiful SoCal winter day shines on the paintwork of the Starlite Garage '60 Oldsmobile.

XDC Rd.1 Irwindale Speedway, California. Forrest Wang does it big at the XDC season opener at Irwindale Speedway.

Formula Drift Tech Day, Rancho Cucamonga, California. Vaughn Gittin Jr., Chris Forsberg and others look over Matt Powers' under construction S14 during the FD preseason tech day.

Grand National Roadster Show, Pomona, California. An incredible display of hot rod history at the annual Grand National Roadster Show. Can't wait til next month to go again!

Evasive Motorsports, La Puente California. The tasty combination of a tuned Evo X and a Ducati.

XDC Rd.1 Irwindale Speedway, California.  Another one from XDC, the heartbreaking view of Chase Goodman's S13 after a run-in with the wall.

Hedges Speed Shop, Fresno California. Future projects await on a rainy March day in Fresno.

Tejon Pass, California. Climbing the grapevine pass in the 2010 Camaro SS – had some good times in this modern muscle car.

Formula Drift Rd.1 , Long Beach California. James Deane trims his wing a bit during the FD season opener.

SR Motorcars, Gardena California. Chris Rado is a madman, plain and simple.

The March Meet, Famoso California. Got rubber?

Formula D Exhibition, Hollywood California. JTP leaves his mark at Hollywood and Highland.

Interstate 15, Mojave Desert California. Joining the parade of hot rods heading back to LA after Viva Las Vegas.

Long Beach Grand Prix, Long Beach California. Falken and BMW fight it out during the final laps of the Long Beach ALMS race.

Viva Las Vegas 2010, Las Vegas Nevada. If you have to crouch to look inside, you have a pretty crazy machine on your hands.

Mopar Spring Fling, Van Nuys California. It doesn't get much cooler than Mopar muscle cars from the late '60s and early '70s.

Long Beach Grand Prix, Long Beach California. Another one of my favorite shots from the LBGP. Shots like this are why you fight for photo hole space with tons of other media guys.

Fatlace One of One, Long Beach California. Living the slammed life.

Viva Las Vegas 2010, Las Vegas Nevada. My look at the details of Viva Las Vegas is definitely one of my favorite posts of the year.

Pacific Beach, San Diego California. Matt Powers Team NFS S14 rolls out of the garage like an unchained neon yellow animal.

Viva Las Vegas 2010, Las Vegas Nevada. One more from Vegas. Hmmm, I think I need to start shooting more vertical shots.

Formula Drift Rd.1 , Long Beach California. Last shot for now, Vaughn Gittin Jr. celebrates for the first time in his triumphant season.

More on the way!
