Have any of you read “The Book of Five Rings” by Miyamoto Musashi? He’s the world’s most famous historical Samurai warrior, who expounded the sword fighting technique of “the single blow”… Meaning that you kill your opponent with one sword strike. Draw Sword, Strike, Kill.

Well, I’m sure that Tarzan Yamada must have some real samurai fighting spirit inside him as he completely decimated the competition this morning! During the first session at the final day of the World Time Attack Challenge, he brought out the freshly repaired Cyber Evo and completely destroyed all opposition. Tarzan laid down a new outright track record of 1:30;8990, bumping the Sierra Sierra down to second for the first time since the competition started.

Sierra Sierra now has almost a second to make up, and the track temperature is only going to go up from here… BTW props to Casey for his amazing photo, taken just an hour or so ago.

3

nice! go tarzan go!

4

Wow great job Cyber. I knew they would lay a good time down but I didn't think they would destroy Sierra with the little budget that they have (relatively speaking, of course).

5

Someone predicted this in the comments of the last post. I cant believe it really happened!!

6

Dangit, worried about that car....C'MON SIERRA SIERRA!!!!

7

Wow, that is an awesome photo!!! Really!!

Thats a big turn in the competition, I was wondering why would it take so long to change the engine in that Evo but whatever it was...it clearly worked!!!

This is looking hot, great coverage Speedhunters!

8

Wow.... over a full second ahead of SSE. I wonder how the Cyber Evo would be able to do if they had been able to practice and setup the car more over the past few days....

9

@ worker bee: ha ha Ya, that was me. I knew Cyber Evo would bust out. As much as I wanted S2 evo to bring home the bacon to the states. Oh well.

10

So Tarzan drives the Cyber Evo and the Cusco Sti? Wtf...

11

That is ridiculous. Over a second?! That car's suspension always seems to be dialed in, damn

12

I knew the Cyber Evo would do good once it got on the track. I wish i was there to witness this event! I wanna see what the Hi Octane R34 can do.

13

come on guys get it right......the out right track record is 1.19......1.30 is Sedan/Saloon record, but miles away from open wheel speed.

14

Great shot Casey :-) Saw you shooting bright and early this morning at Turn 1!

15

^^ I don't think anyone assumed that the Cyber Evo bested Hulkenberg's A1GP time.... outright lap record for tin tops/closed wheel is kind of implied.

Never thought i'd see a "Go-Rin-No-Sho" reference in the website ^__^

It's my favourite book!

Was talking to the S2 guys, they say they are +150kg and -200whp on the cyber evo so i guess it's a predictable result...
