Random Snap>> Stunning Porsche 914-6

This low-riding Porsche 914-6 belongs to Speedhunters.com reader Martin, who sent me this stunning shot of his car. It sounds like quite a beast fitted with a close to 300 HP 3.5L flat-6, replacing the stock 110 HP 2L. On top of all the mechanical modifications, which also include 930 brakes and GT stiffening suspension plates, Martin also fitted the steel GT fender flares and had the rear ones further widened by 1-inch. The car rides on the stock 15-inch Fuchs wheels that sit neatly inside the arches. This is by far the nicest looking 914-6 I have ever seen. Thanks for the picture Martin!

Now this is a 914 worth buying... and worthy of the Porsche badge.

2

Very clean ride and it sounds like it's very well put-together. I wish there were more pics.

3

OMG We need a wallpaper of this, wallpaper of this, wallpaper of this, wallpaper of this, wallpaper of this, wallpaper of this.

5

Yes, please, I love it. :)

6

this is the ugliest porsche that came of of the assembly line. wtf are you guys running out of cool cars to post?

7

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeehooooooo now THIS is the JAM! always loved the 914-6, amazing beauty right there, major props to Martin, what an awesome 914 !!! the only bad is that I want more bigger better pics and can you do a feature on it?

8

I would love to see a feature on this car. I'm a Porsche tech by trade and 914's have always been a weird favorite of mine!

9

A flat 3.0L engine with 300 hp from what? a VW? Porsche? Subaru?

10

Could be from a Boxster S however I believe those were 3.4L. Some guy...if you don't like it, then keep your comments to yourself. It's not the ugliest but it certainly is the most different. The ugliest and least functional is that Cayenne thing they built to compete with Land Rover.

Thanks for the props, the engine is built on a 3.0Li Porsche air cooled case, 3.2 storke and 100Malhe pistons , carrilo rods, giving it 3.5li size. All Porsche parts except for the ignitio system.

Dino will hopefuly post more pics.

aaaamaaaaazinnnnnng

.

@ EJ25: all vw flat engines were four cylinders

The 914 was the Cayman of the 70's, handling better than a 911 and slower only because Porsche wouldn't put their bigger engine in it. Nice work Martin.
