As a follow up to my Temple of Speed article on Avus, here’s a video that shows Avus towards the end of its life as a racing venue. Although it’s very cool to see the monstrous Class 1 DTM cars running on this strip of Autobahn, the track was now truncated into a mere 1.640 miles or  2.639 km length and was hacked up with several makeshift chicanes…. By this time, Avus was a shadow of its former glory and was no longer suitable for motor racing unfortunately.
