Part of the job of car companies like Pagani is not just to build mind-blowing automobiles for us to dream about, but also to continuously find ways to improve upon them. The latest product of this mindset is the finalized iteration of the Pagani Zonda Revolucion – the car that’s being called the fastest Pagani [...]
Let me ask you a hypothetical question: if you could design a day out with an Aventador, what would it be? What kind of automotive experience would you want to have? Would you want to cruise around town, drawing as much attention to yourself as possible? Perhaps you’d want roll in to your local nightclub [...]
If you were to ask people in Japan what think of when they hear the word “Supercar”, they will probably recall a 1970s comic series called Circuit no Okami (Circuit Wolf). The story featured all of the world’s great Supercars of the time, and in this old Best Motoring video clip some of Japan’s best racing drivers got together at Sugo to recreate the action with a group of vintage cars featured in the comic. The grid of cars is quite impressive – Ferrari 308, Lamborghini Countach, Lamborghini Miura, Pantera and more.
While I doubt Keiichi Tsuchiya and company are pushing these vintage exotics quite as hard as they would a normal car, the battle is still something to behold.
As we begin to head into our supercar celebration here on Speedhunters, I figured it would be a appropriate to preface the festivities with a little discussion about what exactly makes a supercar. Like a lot of terms thrown around in the automotive world, there are really no strict rules as to what does or [...]
Dirt in every orifice. Cameras covered in dust. The sound of popping and banging exhausts echoing around my head even days later. Neck and arms aching from trying to keep up with the rocketship acceleration of the cars. It can only be rallycross. Ah, it’s good to be back. The opening round of the 2013 [...]
Last year on our pilgrimage to Lydden Hill, the spiritual home of the frantic sport of rallycross, the rain had lashed down to create a mudbath of epic proportions for the competitors to tackle. For 2013 and the birth of a new era for the European branch of the sport, Lydden was instead distinctly dry [...]
We feature a lot of cars here on Speedhunters that are quick – or at least have the promise of speed due to big horsepower numbers, outrageous body kits or some other product or part that infers performance. But there are some cars that just deliver, without any histrionics or showing off, and require you [...]
As I sit here typing up this post I can’t help but look back at this year with a fair amount of shock at the way it passed by with blistering pace. Time is of course concrete in our human definition, yet entirely fluid in our brain’s ability to recollect it. It seems like only [...]
I consider myself a very realistic person; I keep my feet on the ground at all times and get on with the job at hand. I also consider myself a very lucky individual in that I am actually able to have a job that allows me to indulge in my unrelenting passion for cars. Since [...]
What exactly is soul? And what constitutes soullessness? A lot of people will contend that most new objects lack soul. Whether it’s a piece of architecture, furniture or a car, there’s a commonly held notion that new means souless and old means soulful. Case-in-point: I have several European friends who don’t like new houses or [...]
Of all the component parts of a car, only one can evoke the kind of passion that can break friendships and cause people to break out the CAPS LOCK in internet arguments – wheels! Obviously a very important component, and also one of the key styling features of all cars. The wrong choice of size [...]
With the excesses of Christmas and New Year now a distant memory, the Autosport International Racing Car Show signals the build-up to the 2012 motorsport season. For my first report from Autosport I'll be taking a look around the Pistonheads Performance Car show. Porsche Club GB was my first port of call, and I was [...]
