Now that I’ve had a full week to regroup from SEMA, I’ve been able to reflect with a clear mind upon all the craziness I experienced in order to look for some patterns. I’m not going to try to argue for or against any of the trends I’m calling out, nor am I saying any [...]

It’s been a week since the 2012 SEMA Show wrapped up, and as the final part of our SEMA content it’s time for you guys to pick what you think is the best machine from this year’s event. After a chat, the group of us that was in Vegas last week came up with a list of 15 of our most exciting and interesting vehicles from the show.
Now it’s time for your votes.

It seems that recently I have been having more and more moments of wondering what is real and what isn’t. It could be from being delirious due to lack of sleep. The SEMA show is all about these moments, where you question if something really happened or not. Did I really just see that metallic blue Fox Body Mustang driving [...]

I have making the annual pilgrimage to SEMA since 2008, but this year would mark my first venture through the Convention Center as a Speedhunter; which meant I had an entirely new agenda. I have to admit that SEMA is typically a week in time that I dread for months prior, but since my focus [...]

As I mentioned during my coverage last week, the SEMA Show presents a near endless supply of content from a Speedhunters perspective. We could easily spend a month posting observations from the show, but for my final piece of coverage from SEMA I’d like to focus on the engines. Whether large or small, diesel or gas, modern or vintage – the display of horsepower at SEMA 2012 was as great as ever.

While it’s already been over forty-eight hours since I left the Las Vegas Convention Center, I can still feel the effects of the SEMA show, both mentally and physically. It’s that one-week jam-packed full of cars, parts, people and parties that those of us who work in the tuning industry will spend the next 362 [...]

I’d like to run you guys through a typical day at SEMA with the Speedhunters crew, although there was nothing typical about this show. It is interesting, because the show runs through Halloween, many people dress up while they are at the show. Even the Stig’s retired cousin made an appearance. The crowds are usually pretty massive, [...]

I think most will agree with me that the defining aspect of the SEMA Show is its diversity. It’s the one place where the automotive world truly comes together, and the mash up of so many different subcultures in one place is both strange and brilliant. This year’s show is heavy on both custom European cars and Japanese compact machines lead by the Scion FR-S, but in the end SEMA is still home turf for the customized American machine. With that in mind, lets take a look at some of the big Hot Rods, Customs, and Muscle Cars from SEMA 2012.

After trekking through the Las Vegas Convention Center for three days, I’ve finally accomplished mission impossible – I’ve seen almost all of SEMA. Granted I’m sure there were some small nooks and crannies that I may have overlooked, but I’ve finally managed to walk all three halls and the outside areas and today we’ll be [...]

There could not be a harder task than choosing a single favorite car at SEMA. I’m sure each one of the thousands of people that came through the show doors this week all have a different idea of what the “best is”, but I think I’ve made my pick. It’s the T-5R Martini Mustang from Pure Vision Design.
A ’66 Mustang Fastback may not be be a bold choice in terms of platform, but once you see this thing I think you’ll know why it’s at the top of my list. Known as the T-5R, the car takes the motorsport heritage of the early Mustangs and creates something at a completely different level altogether.

With the incredible amount of attention-grabbing vehicles spread across the Vegas Convention Center this week, you could easily spend an entire month doing nothing but Car Spotlights from the SEMA show. With so many different styles of machines on the floor, selecting favorites is never an easy task – but I’ve gone ahead and gathered up five machines which have left an impression on me so far. Let’s begin, shall we?

I was aimlessly walking the SEMA show looking at all the crazy builds on offer when I stumbled upon this long, beautiful machine. It didn’t quite click in my head straight away, but then something hit me: why not look at a few of the more left-field cars at the event? I was still in my [...]

In recent years the SEMA show has seemed to have had a steady decline in the amount of Japanese vehicles and companies displaying cars and products, likely a lot of the falloff has something to do with the end of the “Fast and Furious” era. However there has been a huge resurgence at this year’s [...]

SEMA first and foremost is about the aftermarket. It’s about company demo vehicles, new products, networking, and all the craziness that comes with the world of vehicle customization. More and more though, SEMA is becoming a place where the automobile manufacturers themselves connect with the enthusiast market, and that’s what I’d like to touch on in this part of my SEMA coverage.

In the eyes of a Speedhunter, the SEMA Show is absolute overload. There are likely hundreds of cars spread across the show which could all be deemed spotlight-worthy, but part of the challenge is narrowing it down to the cars absolutely need to be shared. Sean, Larry, and myself have plenty of SEMA spotlight specials to come, but I’d like to begin with a look at once machine that grabbed my attention as I passed by the Toyo Tire booth this morning.
