Since the beginning of the mass produced automobile, car makers have long sought to create a path of stepping stones with their car lineups. The idea is to catch car buyers at a young age with affordable entry level vehicles and have them stick with the brand as they move through their life. Few companies [...]
I think it goes without saying that it takes a special kind of person to decide to build a first-generation Acura Legend. Not surprisingly, Charles Trieu isn’t exactly your average person, but he is one of the more interesting individuals I’ve met in the scene and also a close friend. Coincidentally, he has some of [...]
Hot on the heels of the Corvette unveiling at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Honda have showcased the latest evolution of their Acura NSX concept. Unlike the Corvette, that at least tries to hand down some of the family likeness to the new sibling, Honda have had no such qualms about a [...]
Hello Speedhunters fans! It’s been a while since my last blog from the Spa 24 Hours. Well, my season has now finally come to an end. It was supposed to be over after the finale in the Blancpain Endurance Series at Navarra in Spain, but plans changed and I did two more races before the [...]
While it’s already been over forty-eight hours since I left the Las Vegas Convention Center, I can still feel the effects of the SEMA show, both mentally and physically. It’s that one-week jam-packed full of cars, parts, people and parties that those of us who work in the tuning industry will spend the next 362 [...]
In recent years the SEMA show has seemed to have had a steady decline in the amount of Japanese vehicles and companies displaying cars and products, likely a lot of the falloff has something to do with the end of the “Fast and Furious” era. However there has been a huge resurgence at this year’s [...]
Time has a funny way of taking its toll on things. Much like the changing of the tides, trends seem to come and go with time. What is now popular will likely become old hat in coming months, only to be resurrected some years from now. Of course there are exceptions to every rule and [...]
“Your machine is amazing, intimidating and spectacular. Not really beautiful, except in a unique creation kind of way…” These were the words chosen to describe Cody Loveland’s insane creation, from the mouth of none other than Randy Pobst, racing driver and childhood hero to Cody. Having had the pleasure of recently meeting Randy at Mid-Ohio I [...]
Nisei is a show where the standards are so high that virtually every car is worthy of a spotlight, but there were a few that peaked my interest a bit more than the rest. I’m not trying to suggest in any way that these were the only cars worthy of coverage, but this is a [...]
What is it about car shows that just doesn’t seem to excite me? It wasn’t always that way, I used to rather enjoy them. Perhaps I’m a little jaded because I’ve spent the last decade attending these types of events and the better half of it photographing and reporting them. Yet despite all of that, [...]
The 2012 Pikes Peak Hillclimb may have been delayed to next month following massive wildfires in Colorado, but that hasn’t stopped the excitement over the big event. Among the cars that will be running up the mountain this year is an incredible Acura NSX built by LoveFab out of Michigan. The clip shows the car undergoing some testing last fall, and since then the NSX has become even more extreme.
You can find out more about the car over on LoveFab’s website.
Speedhunters reader Gabe Elias just sent me this photo of his NSX project with a freshly installed set of Super Advan Version II wheels. The three-spoke design might not be to everyone's liking, but this has got to be one of the best uses of this wheel I've seen yet. It also makes you want [...]
My mindset has been in a strange state this week, going back and forth between coverage of Toyotafest and the Eibach Honda Meet. To have both of these events only one day apart is overload for any fan of Japanese automobiles. If only there could have somehow been a Nissan meet thrown in for good [...]
Hope you guys are ready for some more Honda material, because here comes the next part of my coverage from Sunday's all-Honda meet at Eibach Springs in Corona. On with the Honda loving then. As I mentioned in yesterday's post, there was no shortage of bike racks at this year's meet. Such as the one [...]
Less than 24 hours after shooting Toyotafest in Long Beach, I found myself heading west on the rain-soaked 91 Freeway heading towards Corona to check out the 2011 Honda Meet a the Eibach Springs headquarters. After experiencing last year's event, I came prepared for all of the huge crowds and traffic jams that come with [...]
