This Week’s Video Round-Up

With a new week of Speedhunting ready to kick off, it’s time again to take a quick look at some of our favorite videos from around the net that came to our attention over the past week.

Let’s kick things off with a follow-up to BJ Baldwin’s recent Recoil 3 viral video…

This new clip from Hoonigan, titled BJ Baldwin’s Recoil 3-SIXTY, puts a fresh perspective on the original. Using 360-degree camera technology, the control is in your hands as BJ rips up Tacoma, Washington, in his 800hp Trophy Truck. Given the nature of the driving stunts, the 360-degree capture works really well here.

Anyone who watches Fast N’ Loud on Discovery Channel will no doubt be familiar with KC Mathieu of KC’s Paint Shop. In this video from the man himself, KC runs a morning errand in ‘Frankenstein’ – a 1968 Ford F100 pickup truck packing a Ford Racing 5.0L Aluminator engine that pushes 700hp to the rear wheels. Traction is an issue…

Under Suzuki is the undisputed king of time attack at Tsukuba Circuit in Japan having run a best lap of 51.127 in his Scorch Racing Nissan Silvia S15, but now there’s another 51-second car on the scene. Last weekend, Nobuteru ‘NOB’ Taniguchi piloted the Top Fuel Honda S2000 to a new PB record lap time of 51.762, making it a serious future contender for the title. Check out the in-car clip above.

Finally this week we’ve got The Green Hornet: The Joy Of Driving, My Heart & Soul, A 240Z. The title pretty much says it all, but there’s a lot more to this classic Z-machine than first meets the eye…

As always, if you’ve watched a cool video this week, we welcome you to share it in the comments section below!

Green hornet video is awesome so much respect for that quality build

Feature on the green hornet please! I'm really curious as to what is that L28

Anybody know what sort of event allowed the owner of the green hornet to get his car on the track? Getting to drive a car of mine at Laguna is definitely a goal for me, but I've never been sure what's a good way to go about doing it.

Dimitry Mochkin That motor is an absolute beast - it's bored and stroked out to 3.4-litre running a very heavily ported P90 head with 50mm Mikuni Solex sidedrafts. You should be able to find all the info you need here:

Damn, the acceleration on that S2K is insane! I'd be curious to see what kind of time a modern GT500 car, or even a LMP1 car, would post in comparison to the time attack cars.
What led me into wondering that was sort of wishing there was a track in North America were holding the lap record is kind of a big deal. Don't get me wrong, it's a big deal at any track, but few get the sort of attention that Tsukuba does. My first thought was that Limerock Park would be perfect, but they race some pretty serious cars there, so does that put the lap record out of reach for production based time attack cars? I remember hearing about the FF lap record at Buttonwillow being broken a few months back, but it didn't get much coverage.

Jagdroach track days

Gosh that Frankenstein F100 sounds so MENACING! (Love that camel at 2:09 ooooooo...)

I had made it that far haha

Peter_Kelly Dimitry Mochkin i haven't even watched the clip yet, went to read this link and wow...this is an amazing build

Peter_Kelly Dimitry Mochkin Yeah, I've already googled and found it! Damn, 400 NA hp...that's borderline insanity!

Jagdroach Join NASA or SCCA I believe they have track days, less expensive.

Gearbox noises on the top fuel s are mental!

Amazing car the green hornet...I was wondering what brand are the rear suspension arms and links...some proper engineering applied to this car definitely...respect..

Green Hornet and S2K. The only ones worth watching!

S2000 is amazing, but someone needs to build a time attack FD to blow away the Silvia's and S2000's at Tsukuba, it has the better chassis. I don't care if they put a V8 in it to do it either lol..

Orido-san kinda' redeems himself after crashing the Arvou S2000. Kinda'.....

I made this movie.
