As you can probably guess from the title, this month’s theme is going to be a shallow one, or a deep one depending on your interpretation. Yes, it’s time you for you to battle with f/numbers and show us how you can tame your aperture blades.

Every photograph ever taken has depth of field but we want you to show us how you can control it.

It doesn’t matter if it’s super shallow and wide open bokeh glory, or if it’s tack sharp from front to back.

As always this theme will be judged so that only the best will be showcased at the end of the month. If you’ve been trying to get featured and not have had much luck yet, read below for some tips and guidance which will assist you in your quest. Also, and this does happen a lot, make sure you attach the photograph to your submission! Entries for this theme should be submitted to  iamthespeedhunter@dev.speedhunters.com with the subject line ‘IATS Depth of Field Theme’.

Have you submitted already but yet been featured? Here are some tips to help you…

DO – Submit your best work, regardless of when it was taken.
DO – Take your time shooting and consider each detail
DO – Try to submit each image no larger than 1000PX wide.
DON’T – Put a huge watermark on it. We’ll make sure you’re credited!
DON’T – Send us huge image files that kill our e-mail system!
