Random Snap>>the Calsonic Primera

Here's another bit of vintage JTCC goodness, and a car that also happens to be one of my favorite racing machines of all time – the P10 Calsonic Nissan Primera driven by Kazuyoshi Hoshino.

I'm not sure what it is about 1990's touring cars, but man I love these things.

I know exactly what it is... slammed, near stock body, huge wheels. Not to mention the super touring years of BTCC was the single most fantastic tin top race series of all time. I adore them.

I have to agree whole-heartedly! Ever since I saw an Alfa 159 all widened, slammed and ready for track duty (1992), my viewpoint on cars shifted entirely (and hasn't changed much since)!

Almost makes me want to get one as a track hack - Can pick the SR20 P10 up for about NZ$1000...

4

More of this!

Old JTCC pics are so hard to come by.

5

Omg!! This car looks so sick, i wish they would bring a series like this back. We can all dream right?

6

The late 90's BTCC primeras prepared by ray mallock were awesome. I remember reading somewhere that Nissan spent 30 million quid developing them.

7

@ Simon from NZ. My flat-mate is doing just that, also in NZ. However with a $500 P10 shell and SR20VE engine. I own a P11 street car with an SR20DET conversion.

8

Mike, how about a feature on one of the JTCC Accords? you have pictures of the Mugen Accord in your old blog

9

ZOMG P10 FTW!!!

But seriously, the BTCC, and JTCC P10 were fun to watch.

Very nice... I just love those super touring cars from the 90s. Wondering why there are nearly no specific super touring-themed street builds out there...

11

It sure looks hellaflush!

12

forget the Accord you should run a feature on the SEMI-AUTOMATIC Toyota Chasers from the 1998 season of the JTCC

i own the same car race spec built its amazing machine and even its stock form turns very well far better than hondas and other bullshit from that period even now the car stands perfectly on the road going alot faster than most of the modern cars in the cornering and 260hp from an 2.0liter naturally aspirated engine is a nice experience

Can we have a proper feature on some of the 90's Super Touring cars? I'd love to see more of this, the Volvo 850 and the A4 Quattro ST.

15

Touring SR20 had 320ps at final stage... awesome. Old good Nissan years!

16

90s touring cars were pure racing beasts...that's why I love 'em...
