For a few years now, we’ve all been wondering what the future holds for the Subaru WRX. If these leaked photos are legit, you are looking at Subaru’s new WRX Concept. While nothing is confirmed, Subaru has announced it will be revealing a “performance concept” at the upcoming New York Auto Show. This appears to [...]

You might have noticed I haven’t been heading down to many night meets at Daikoku PA lately. With the Police constantly closing off the rest stop way before gatherings have a chance to get too big, it has began to take a lot of the fun away from it all. The reason they have started [...]

It was yet another perfect day for time attacking at Tsukuba circuit yesterday and as ever the paddock at the Battle Evome series had a tantalizing mix of impressive amateur-owned cars. No matter how many of these events I attend, it’s always like it’s my first one. The excitement of seeing the same cars get [...]

Now here’s our friend Mark Riccioni to continue the story of his road trip through some Europe’s best driving spots in a specially prepared Subaru WRX. In case you missed part one of his tale, you can catch up right here.
Take it away, Mark!

Part of what I love about driving in Europe is just how connected you are. With a few hours of driving you can visit multiple countries with relative ease – Germany, Switzerland, Austria and of course Italy.

Great roads and a great car. There are few things better. Here’s our friend Mark Riccioni with an epic tale of a road trip across Europe in a hotted up Subaru WRX. Enjoy!

Very rarely are cars actually driven as a manufacturer intended. By that I don’t mean the track enthusiast who spends every weekend hammering his 3-series around the Nurburgring, I mean the multitude of sports cars which spend their lives huddled around city streets – roaming motorways on the daily grind with not a whisper past 4000rpm.
I say that based on my own experience – having previously owned RX7s, GT-Rs and an Evo 10 I can (shamefully) say not a single car hit the circuit. Sure I’d give ‘em the beans now and then, but nothing worthy of testing the car’s full ability. Does that make me less of a Speedhunter? A lot of you will probably say yes, but that’s the harsh reality for the majority of sports cars (and owners) out there, regardless of their excuse.

Ever wondered what a Subaru WRX would be like it were powered by a 6-litre LQ4 V8? Well, the owner of the Corvette-powered Civic did, so after he finished his Honda’s conversion he turned his attention to his bug-eye WRX. This guy is crazy. You can view its dyno run here. – Charles Kha Build thread on [...]

There's no doubt that having four doors, a trunk, all-wheel drive, and all around practicality is great for going about your daily business. It's also great when your daily looks as good as these three Subarus. If you had to pick one of these, which one would you choose? The WRX wagon, the STI, or [...]

In the late 1990s, the UK AWD car scene was smitten with the first generation Subaru Impreza WRX STi, resulting in a large number of grey imports from Japan. Subaru wasn't particularly very happy at this and commissioned Prodrive to get to work. The result was this. Dubbed the Prodrive P1, it was a limited [...]

It's a shame we haven't heard about people doing much with the four-door version of the current WRX. I'm sure we'll being see more once the widened 2011 version hits the streets, but for now only a few brave souls have shown love to the Impreza sedan. This '09 WRX I spotted at the S3 [...]

Last weekend I checked out some flat-fours of the classic German variety at the VW Classic in Irvine – this weekend it was flat fours again, but of the modern Japanese variety. Saturday was the annual Subaru Summer Solstice, better known as S3 – and I headed down to the Torrey Pines Gliderport in beautiful [...]

The start of the Time Attack event of the year is just around the corner and to kick off the excitement the center of Sydney's business district was invaded by two very special cars this morning. The Panspeed RX-7 and the Tomei/Cusco/Voltex Impreza of Team Tarzan, which have been in Australia for only a few [...]

Arriving at the Nürburgring Nordschleife earlier today and having nothing else to do but wait for the rest of the Speed Industries team, my good friend Martin parked his Subaru Impreza GC8 in front of the Burg Nürburg (Nürburg Castle). The light was insane, so I grabbed this shot. More on my Nürburgring weekend soon! [...]

Right now in the Big Apple, the New York International Auto Show is in full swing, and we’ve seen some pretty interesting new models revealed this year. This morning Subaru unveiled the 2011 Impreza STI, which will once again be available as a traditional four-door sedan. This didn’t come as a huge surprise of course, [...]
