I know this is a pretty bold statement, but this is probably going to be the coolest thing you see all day. Hell, if you’re a Porsche fanatic like myself, it might be the coolest car you see all month. What I’m talking about is the legendary Urban Outlaw Magnus Walker’s latest creation, the car [...]
It’s right back at Daikoku PA now for a final look at the other day’s supercar gathering. During the few hours that I was there I literally never stopped walking around, because as cars left, more kept coming in. By around lunch time the lot was so full that a many were forced to park [...]
What’s your favorite brand of car? It seems a simple enough question, but for the petrol head the answer is anything but. While my particular response will probably vary from day to day, the brand most likely to be named would be Porsche. Although I cannot afford to own one (yet), Porsche is a brand [...]
Paper will always remain paper, no matter what. Over the last decade the web has really reinvented the way we get clued up in anything from the latest news, to the thing we all love the most here, cars. We are all now used to seeing awesome content from each corner of the world, presented [...]
Falken have come on leaps and bounds in the American Le Mans Series with their Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, taking on the big factory teams and major tyre manufacturers at the sharp end of the GT grid. The bumpy streets of Baltimore at the beginning of September provided an X Games-style challenge for low-slung GT cars, and Falken’s #17 crew of Bryan Sellers and Wolf Henzler somehow avoided all usual street-fighting mayhem to come through and take the win – their second in the two races held at Baltimore.
It’s time wrap up the InterClub coverage from this past Sunday now as we take a final look at some more cars that were roaming the paddock that day. I would have loved to do a second Spotlight-o-rama but with constant sessions and everyone moving around it was tough, so I think a final general [...]
It happens to us all Speedhunters; we head to a meet or event and end up being surrounded with so many special cars that we would love to feature every single one. That, of course, is impossible but the next best thing is a quick spotlight, or better still a “Spotlight-o-rama” as Sean recently did [...]
There’s no denying it, for those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere, summer is well and truly underway. For us Speedhunters the summer brings lots of excitement, and with it, plenty of work. While most people are on vacation living the easy life our schedule becomes more crammed than ever which means back-to-back weekend [...]
One of the many cars that left me scratching my head at Gatebil was this innocent enough from a distance Volkswagen Polo. The fourth generation Polo never really got a whole lot of love from enthusiasts, with the exception of the GTi variant which arrived in 2005 when the 9N was face-lifted as the 9N3. I guess there wasn’t really an appeal to tune something which is by all accounts, a small city car. That is of course until Dahlback got their hands on one …
Coming off some misfortune that lead to a less than satisfactory result at Sebring, the guys at Falken were looking to come into Long Beach and score some much needed points. While the rest of the competitors weren’t too happy about the rain on Friday, the Walker Racing team couldn’t have hoped for more ideal [...]
Despite the fact that Volkswagen owns almost half of Porsche I wanted to dedicate a separate post to this iconic brand. I found the official Porsche stand in a corner of Techno Classica on which they displayed some legendary cars. What to think about this 911 Carrera RS 2.7? The RS stands for Rennsport – Racing – [...]
This week Porsche released info on the latest version of the 911 GT3 RSR. Although it's still based on the previous 997 chassis as opposed to the new 2012 911, the RSR is sporting some significant changes for 2012. Customers around the world will make good use of the RSR's 460 horsepower in various international [...]
We are beginning to prepare our piece on the Top 20 Porsches that shaped the brand, but I wanted to take a break from that to share a few photos of one Porsche I spotted last month at the Rolex Historics. This 1975 Carrera RSR 3.0 is a fine example of one of the best [...]
During my recent visit to Cars & Coffee, I once again came across a stunning 911 that needs to be shared. This 1978 930 has been converted into a street-going RSR/934 replica with all the style you'd expect of a vintage Porsche race car. With only 32,000 total miles on the chassis and just 12,000 [...]
