Fast & Furious Goes RC

As we saw in the Subaru vs stick bomb clip from the other day, people have been doing some pretty crazy video stuff with RC vehicles of late. This one though, might be even better, with all the cheesy action we’ve come to love from the Fast & Furious franchise reenacted in 1:10 scale. The short film from Vax Studio has all the F&F cues: wheelie burnouts, drifting, cop car chases – and of course plenty of nitrous oxide. I especially like the way they’ve nailed the Hollywood camera angles here too. Once you’ve finished watching, make sure you check out the behind the scenes video to see how it all came together.

Enjoy!

Lots of imagination....I couldn't stop laughing.  :)  don't miss the making of

Gotta buy one of these cars, looks pretty cool!
Nice vid, but are you really able to do a wheelie with these rc cars? It made me want to buy one haha.

4

jdmRob Not even a little bit, they would've used nylon to lift the front end for that shot.
They are still heaps of fun though, especially for drifting!

5

Are these the Vaterra R/C Cars? The bodies look very familiar but I've heard that the R/C cars use plastic parts such as the driveshafts.

I bet Paul would of loved to of had a BenSpora GTR in one of the movies.

7

My only problem is with the name this isn't Fast n Furious Toretto has never driven a Camaro except for the F-Bomb which he stole and crashed in 3 seconds. Also Brian has owned the Rocket Bunny GTR but never actually drove it.

8

I think it is because they probably couldn't find a charger rc car.

9

Wildcardfox  Agreed, you beat me to the comment!

Saw it a few days ago. I was laughing like crazy. Super cool.

Yep, the GT-R and both Camaros are Vaterra products. Their cars are supposed to be decent, but hideously overprice considering how spartan the chassis' are. The shells look great though, some of the best out there.

As for the S15 it's a Tamiya shell, but there is no way of telling the chassis...

He did, last scene of Fast and Furious 6. It's in the driveway. Matte blue.

Wildcardfox  Oh, I guess I should of watched all the movies first. Oooops.

@RC_Dan KKL

I was actually considering to buy a 1/10 RC car but there are so many choices, if I wanted a smaller one Kyosho would be the way to go.

I was actually very tempted to buy the Nismo GT3 Vaterra but it was somewhere around $360 and I think I could go with a cheaper better brand maybe HPI Racing's Scion kits or even a Tamiya Expert Built kit

15

I would have been happy if it was just a literal copy of the original scene using the drag upto the train and doms wreck, but no... this was MEGA.

16

Amazing, some of the shots looked so real!

KKL

Well, if you're going to get a Tamiya there's no point buying a RTR. Kits are the way to go.

My personal favourite is the XV-01, a real jack of all trades. Rally, drift, grip, it does it all.

18

Wildcardfox HPI makes a Charger body for monster trucks just not 1/10 scale touring cars. I'm sure if you could adjust the track width and wheelbase of the chassis you could make it fit. However that's alot of work.

19

@RC_Dan KKLTT-01 is one of the best priced kits out there $130, yes you still need a radio, transmitter, battery, and charger. However bang for you buck a TT-01 isn't a bad kit.

20

@RC_Dan KKL  XV-01 is a rally car,you sure to play this....?

21

MartialisXIII KKL  TT01 is a tank,too

22

Wow! Really impressive how they absolutely nailed the engine sounds and sound effects. Something the Hollywood productions almost always fail at...

23

Haha, is pretty cool, I like the video, it looked pretty real, and I like Shawn Boswell's S15

EVOZZZZ KKL

Take off the mud guards and belt cover and you wouldn't even notice it's for the most part a rally car. That's why it's so great though, it's super versatile, and it is (as far as I know) the only non-drift orientated front-motor 4WD touring available currently.
