Heat Treatments Limited Racing – the New Zealand team behind the world’s quickest Skyline GT-R – have rewritten the record books once again. At Willowbank Raceway in Queensland, Australia on Saturday, driver Reece McGregor pointed the HTL Racing BNR32 to a 7.455 at 193.27mph (311km/h) pass before going 7.412 at the same trap speed. It’s been exactly a year since the legendary GT-R set its last PB – that run was a 7.531 at 185.26mph (298.14km/h) at the very same Willowbank Sportsman pre-FUCHS Winternationals meet – so cracking into the 7.40s (and very nearly the 7.30s!) is a great accomplishment. We can’t wait to see what the team can do at the 2013 Winternats in a few weeks time! In the meantime, check out some video of the 7.45 and 7.41 passes from the guys at DragImportMedia.
White trash GTR makes the 1/4 mile in 8.21 whithout trackbite!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yocB048FWO0
Is it me or does that track seem to go uphill and then downhill at the end. Does NZ have any tracks that are measurably-near flat?
Is this the fastest 4wd in the world? I think that title should be stated more than the gtr title. Amazing achievement for Heat Treatments, they are a class outfit.
I don't think I've ever seen this GTR before, and I definitely didn't know it was the worlds fastest... But, when I saw this feature as I scrolled down, I automatically figured it was from New Zealand. Those cats can build!
I'm not a drag enthusiast but this is insane, I just love that they have committed to keeping it 4 wheel drive.
Funny how you can here nothing but haters when they try to talk down the ultimate legend car ever built. The fact that you cant have one is what kills the meh or the white trash person since they don't even have the slightest clue of what a quality performance car is, so pathetic and sad! GTR is the future of performance cars in the world ever since it was built, destined to be the worlds fastest without the need of four turbo's or a V12 engine amazing is the perfect word. All who knows the history and legend of this powerful beast Godzilla can tell you more admiring words from all over the world in different languages for that's what it is an inspiration for other car makers to try to achieve, which will never happen!!!!!!! There's only one GTR code name r35 Godzilla, oh also the r36 is in development so prepare for an time breaker record in 2016.
@FunctionFirst The track is in qld, australia. But to answer your question is no. There are a couple of drag stips that shear track with road circuits that ain't to bad And a old airport that is used but the main drag strip out side of Auckland is anything but flat.
@FunctionFirst the track is in australia
I agree with Frozzy. Tristan, 7.41 almost entirely in a 4 wheel drift. BIG MEH? You are empty inside
It's their GTR, they can do whatever the hell they want with it... These hard working guys accomplish something big and you give em a "big meh"
