AN ENTRÉE OF DONUTS, KEN BLOCK STYLE

There’s nothing like a bit of tire smoke and extreme driving to whet an audience’s appetite before a main race. That’s what Ken Block was doing today before the first round of the Australian V8 Supercars Series at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide. If you’re having a slow Sunday, this is sure to provide a bit of entertainment…

Don't hate the player, hate the game

people tend to forget that the gymkhana video's are productions designed to be infomercials, and with as many views, promotions and publicity as he gets for himself and the sponsors, it looks like its working hey! people are going to always bitch, moan and be miserable about things! the car looks awesome, he was real a friendly dude, its all good! IMO cars are meant to be fun, you are meant to enjoy them, and to me, that looks like a shitload of fun!

I was at Clipsal, i couldnt wait to see Ken Block, then when i did, he was shit...everytime he has done a lap, somthing with his car would pack up, not to mention how shit he was at clipsal, he did a few donuts here and there, and that was about all he did

Look at that smile on his face, the guy is a entertainer who likes cars. It's hard for me to take him serious as an athlete, but as an entertainer he's top notch. I can respect that.

i was there, and, ken block was crap, he literally did the exact same things every time he went out, the only differences were when he screwed up, stalled, and hit things, also it has shown me just how much editing is done to his videos, he does everything so very slowly it's a joke. i will be the first to say i have never been a fan of his, mainly due to the fact he seems to be perceived as some sort of driving god and that what he is doing is so very unique and difficult when in reality it just isn't, if i wanted to watch a car drive in circles around something like that i'd head down the road and watch some flat brim cap wearing wankers do it in a parking lot.

the after race celebrations from Van Gisbergen were leaps and bounds more exciting than any of block's shows throughout the weekend, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04ke2bwmDl8

777 I would just have rather seen a V8 supercar do this exhibition instead of Block's tonka-toy for the emerging market of xtreme brah's- which is really all his video's were ever about. Most everyone who thought he was talented were idiot Subaru fanboys where his vids were their first popular/viral taste of rallying. There were so many better/ more talented role models in rallying you could have do this shiz and that is my only gripe. I don't get why people have to hate on people who hate on Ken Block. You say he's not all that talented then they scream back at you about his 100 acre woods wins...but you look at the sparce, serious(ly funded) teams going up against this skater bro who made hundreds of millions shilling what is now become low quality skater crap to other bro's who like to look extreme and the marketing works. So good for him he's a self made millionaire who's done a lot to promote our modern motorsport...but he's pretty meh on an international level SO If I could I'd rather see this stuff done by almost anyone else...Sam Hubinette, Peter Solberg would both be better and probably available. Heck fly Marcos Ambrose back down under to show em how its done.

Paizuri_4g63  777 Word. I'll admit I enjoy watching Ken's videos but I feel like if he didn't own DC, he wouldn't be driving on a professional level.

Thanks for the upload. Hopefully everyone will be able to keep their 'toolbag/mouthpiece/etc' hate comments about the driver to themselves and just enjoy the vid or move on. Thanks again.

Does anyone have torrent links for the Supercar race?  All I've been able to find is the Dunlop Series Race 2.

R3d Baron Hi, i watched it live at http://www.v8supercars.com.au/v8live/schedule yesterday. Can't help you on where to find a copy of it though. Best bet is to look up the race schedule and hit up that link at the corresponding time.

It was awesome to see Holden dominate the first round. Hopefully it continues for 2013!

Holden what?

The cars are pretty much sports sedans, not much Holden or Ford in a full space frame car.

dneg ORLY? I didn't know that, now i don't know what to believe anymore...
