I thought I’d share this shot of Kato-san’s private garage at Liberty Walk, a place where he stores five of his shakotan rides. He treats and looks after these cars in the same way he does his valuable exotics; to him they are just as important albeit very different reasons. These kinds of cars are not only an intriguing part of the vast Japanese car culture but one that remains mostly unexplored. You can expect this to change as I will be keeping my eyes peeled for any cars worthy of a feature, starting off with another of Kato’s rides. More on that soon.

That purple one looks like the new Mad Manga Jun Imai did for Hot Wheels.
Hope he still has the black 300Z (i think it's a 300), I always thought his version of that car was just absolutely gorgeous with the wheel flares.

Wouldn't these be classified more as bosozoku rather than shakotan? Considering the large over fenders and bright paintwork?
