Car Spotlight>> Bee?r 180sx

I recently spotted this RPS13 lurking in the back of the Bee-R workshop, a car that Imai-san has built on the cheap to allow him to learn and fine tune his drifting skills. Seems that after years at the helm of the Bee-R D1 team and having built two of the most legendary cars in the series…

…he wants to have a go too.

And good on him, as it's usually not every day that someone decides to start drifting at age 50.

What attracted me to this 180SX was the crazy offset of the front, now discontinued, Bee-R wheels which visibly bump front track for improved handling so I'm told.

Imai-san is very enthusiastic about his drifting and was already all packed up, ready go for a bit of a practice the following day.

Love the helmet!

To prep the car for serious drift action Imai has fitted a nice and chunky Tanida steering wheel along with a Bride bucket seat…

…as well as welding on an extension to the side brake to for ease of use when needing to snap the car sideways on corner entry. Those with a keen eye will spot the GT-R shift knob.

Check out how aggressively this car sits. The rear fenders have been slightly rolled so they clear the Goodyears under compression.

All stock at the back, oh, except for that rather large GT wing.

Under the carbon fiber hood sits the modified SR20DET. To help the motor crank out some more horsepower it has been joined by an HKS GT-RS turbo mounted on a stainless steel manifold. With boost set at 1 bar and supporting fueling mods, there are around 400 HP on tap, more than enough to have some serious fun with.

The black on white thing really works well.

For those that aren't great fans of large spoilers I have something pretty cool coming up next from Bee-R! Check back soon!

This made me smile thinking about a 50 yr old man out ridin' dirrrty and drifting. Car looks great and very well put together. Bet it's a blast to drive.

There is no age if you want to enjoy your hobbie !!! Gambare Imai-san!!!

This is what I'm talking about. Clean and tasteful body work with meaty, hella-functional stance.

Not big on the front fitment. Im no fitment whore but that just looks wierd. Other than that i love everything. Need me one of them modified Ebrake handles, im too big to pull it efficiently in my s13.

400HP from a GTRS on only 1bar of boost......hmmmm

WALLPAPERS please!

Bee*R ftw!!! You didn't mention anything of that NOS-set up!?! Look at the pic of the plenum side ;)

I'm sorry I can not translate well.

The maximum horsepower of 400PS

I enjoy long drives down the BOOST

We also enjoy a bar.

IMAI Lower your car more! Make the wheel offset all the way around just like the front.
