I've been spending a lot of time lately nerding out over the scale models that guys in Japan have been building. I thought you guys might get a kick out of this one. It's a USDM-inspired NA Roadster with a kitbashed 4AGE turbo swap.

Why the hell would u boost a 4age? when the BP is made for boost? I know this is a scale mode but i'm still offended...

mazdaspeeder ...As he said, he fitted the 4age, just to be a little different, you could call it say, a 4agze (bottom end) so it would indeed more suited for boost then!
And I think you can get nice engine alone models of the infamous 4age engines!.
(so very good detail of the engine)
DJJAW11 the bp engine still hold boost better then a 4age look at the spec and think if the swap is worth it in real life.

again i know is a Scale car and he wants to be different but i just don't understand the concept.
Mazdaspeeder ... As you said its a scale model only!, And as I said, you can get certain scale model engines in that cars scale, hence would be more detailed, than the standard cars engine that came with the kit. And dont down the 4age engines so much, the 4agze (supercharged engine) is a very capable engine boosted, be it supercharger, or turbo!, oe semi forged pistons, forged crank etc, and course quite the infamous engine throughout the world, more so, I guess in its Na aspiration!, 4age,than GZ. Its just a scale model, so fell less inclined to compare to real world!.
And yes, the B6 engine holds boost well, as its taken from a engine orig designed for boost, from the mazda 323s!.
Why the hell would u boost a 4age? obviously you dont know the potential of $age, there are such engine under boost here in JA with over 400 WHP doing 11 and 12 sec on the 1/4, just so you know.
The 4AGE is just as potent. Stock for stock swap would be kind of pointless, yes, but if you consider a 4agze, or a 20v, the options favor the 4A, a little more. Of course, since you already have a BP, might as well use it, right?
It's a fuckin toy, why should there be logic behind it?

maybe the dude just likes the 4ag. maybe he likes the higher redline. maybe he has a bunch of 4ag tuning parts in his scale garage at home so when he's at scale trackdays and breaks a part, he can glue on some replacement parts easily. =/
Those specs really don't have any relevance to how much "boost" either engine will hold.
If you look at the spec the redline is only 400 rpm difference for the 16v one. There is 4age that can made to 400 whp but i can show u ten BP that makes 400 whp before u can show me one 4age that is pulling that number. All u toy fan boys need to stop. I know 4age is a good engine but the swap is pointless.

Want torque? LSX
Want high rev? F20C

Mazdaspeeder it just a toy dude relax !!... And yu are saying that a 4ag is not a boost engine . In club4ag theirs is a guy dat has a 1.6 4agze wit STOCK internals . Doing 520 atw something like wit 32psi . And also u might find more mazda engine boosted the only reason is because people dont want to break their head wit a toyota engine

So was the 4AGE, lol. The 4AGZE was supercharged from the factory and can make 400+hp on stock internals when the s/c is swapped out with the right turbo.
