The boys at motorFIX have recently hit up YZ Circuit where their awesome 1UZ-powered Corolla headed out for a little test session.
There's nothing like the sound of a quad cam V8 with eight throttles to get you going on a Tuesday.

this made my day, I'm currently building a 1uz-powered nb miata and it should be running and driveable by next weekend! I'm so stoked now hahaha I cant wait for that sound.
sorry but the IL4's sound better to me. Pretty cool its got 8stacks though
Huh?but wait.why doesn't he rock an LS?.....oh wait he has style....all you jokers rocking LS swaps must feel really stupid after hearing that ITB UZ....cuz u know it sounds a thousand times better than a stupid ass pushrod inblock cam engine...
I want one of those!
It just occurred to me that I did have a 1UZ once... in a '90 LS400. I was too busy turning a profit on the car to think about putting the engine in a KE70 (or an MX-5) though. Oh well, at least I know where I can find a cheap source for quad-can V8s now.
Yeeeah no SG that easily beats the buzz of any 4cyl. Did you actually watch the video? its like honey bees against the roar of a bull...and those pushrods still have more torque/ power in general over the 1uz tho it is ne of my favorit engines. The Aussies have been using it in everything from powerboats to other serious racers I shouldn't be suprised it took America's lesser informed hipster tuning generation to get hip to it.
thenitz: you're an idiot. ls is still a 1000x better swap because it's so easy to get parts.

meanwhile, this car is fugly
f*ck yeah!
I agree, The UZ w/ ITB's sounds waaaaay better than a LS, great swap for that chassis.
I love MotorFIX, they make such cool cars. That looked like a fun event too.
It needs a Sprint car exhaust to match the type of intake.. hehe sounds a bit to tame to me. shrugs.
it sounds so effing good!!! better then any LS
love the sound.. the car itself seems well balanced.
