Random Snap>>subaru’s Ft-86 At Geneva

Subaru will be showing it’s yet to be named version of the FT-86 at the Geneva Motor Show this week. The folks at AutoGuide.com caught this see-through version of the car in Subaru’s booth prior to its official debut. It’s hard to tell exactly what the finished car will look like, but it seems it’s off to a good start.

What do you guys think?

I think I'd like it if I could see the photo.

2

It looks like a fail version of an Audi TT :'(

3

Why do I've the feeling Subaru is going to mess this up!!!!!!

4

It looks like its a mix of a Audi TT and a 350z lol.

5

Dear God! That looks reeeeeeeeeeally dull! i sincerely hope that the real shape will be better...

6

More info please! AND more pics!

7

wow! i gotta say that the car they've got there does look pretty impressive with all the lights shinning on it and what not!

but yerh you got it spot on mike It's hard to tell exactly what the finished car will look like, but it seems it's off to a good start.

I hope all these companies jump in the RWD thing, Because that would mean more swap options for my datsun 510!! HAHA. Anyways, if the design follows the car above, its kinda weak. But it could be a big tease. look at the rear wheels. looks like you cant put anything wider than a 17x7 rim.

9

"Bubbles" style...

10

look like weird 350z

11

Nicee!! Looks pretty good.. the engine is lower then normal WRX and STIs!!

12

Ummm... 350z?

At least it's still RWD (although I was confused by autoguide.com)

13

where is the picture?

14

i dont think everyone should be worried about the styling quite yet. obviously this display was designed to show the drivetrains layout and placement. just looking at how low that engine sits. lower center of gravity=improved handling.

15

It's interesting as of right now...I want to see more of it. Let's hope it is what they say it is.

16

Cause they definitely will...

17

failwhale

18

Is this Concept II or Concept III? And why does the motor press continue to waste bandwidth when this car is never going to go into production?

19

This looks like a 350z with a boxer engine

20

nice 350Z!

21

ewwwww what the hell happened to the curves we fell in love with?

22

It looks unoffensive. That's a good start... as long as they don't do what they did with the Tribeca or Liberty/Legacy nose.

23

Both the Toyota and Subaru versions styling better make my cock explode from sheer lust, or I will not look at Toyota and Subaru for another five years.

24

Hopefully the weight of the body panels will lower it!

I am dissapointed in the direction that subaru went when they redesigned their cars for the 2008+. i understand that its a image change and they want to look more grown up but please leave the sti's alone. they used to look tough and mean and radical, now they blend in. maybe they perform better but i dont think that their restyling aided them in sales. the cues of this concept are very ... uninspiring, we've seen lines like this before, 350z, audi tt. there's nothing about it that screams, buy me over those guys. hell the ft86 concept looks 1000 times better than this. definitely borrowed and blue.

subaru, please make it flamboyant like the wrex's of yesterday and maybe your fanbase will come back

As long as it's FR drivetrain with boxer engine in front I don't care about the rest :P

28

this car is turning into a joke... whats up with all the babbling and press kits? Hyundai - which I dont necessarily fancy - didnt rant for ages before putting the genesis on the market. And its a pretty nice piece of a car for the price.

29

Wow!!!!! Amazing...What an amazing car! i like it:)

30

like 350z((

32

wow that's looking great. That engine looks low to the ground even for a boxer!! I can't wait to see how it will handle.

33

That is absolutely awesome. could be the best looking subaru

34

HERP DERP IT LOOKS SO BORING!

You guys do realize that it's only the drivetrain that they're displaying right? The clear body is just some generic shell to give you an idea of the vehicle packaging.

35

Please note that I am Sam with a capital S and I did not make the comment about the press kits or about hyundai. That is some other sam. From now on I will be known as SamW. I have made one other post before this name changeover, I posted a comment on the page about the unveiled FT86 concept.

36

I'm all for reviving a classic car, but this feels dull. Why didn't they just make the body style similar to the original but update it with cleaner edges? I don't see why making boring rounded out cars is the goal of most car manufacturers. JDM had lost it's touch in this day and age.

37

OMG the world is full of IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is only to show the engine and drivetrain layout!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS NOT WHAT THE CAR WILL LOOK LIKE!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers
