As Charles mentioned during the December editorial, we've added a new category to the 2010 Speedhunters Awards – Readers Car of the Year.

Yes, that means that we are giving you guys not just the opportunity to vote in the awards, but to participate with your own vehicles.

Before you send in your cars though, here are some important guidelines of what we are looking for.

First off, the cars submitted should belong to you. Not a friend or relative, or a car that somebody in your team or club owns.

While we would love to include everyone's cars – we have to limit to this to the "best of the best". We are looking for cars that are the complete package – with a mix of performance or aesthetic modifications, uniqueness, with quality throughout. Other than that, we are open to anything – race cars, street cars, classics, new cars, whatever.

If you honestly think that your vehicle meets the above criteria, here's what to do -

Send a few good photographs of the car, along with a quick spec list, and a paragraph or two describing the car to speedhuntersmike (at) gmail.com. Of course you should make sure to include your full name and your location.

We will not be accepting any submissions after this Friday, December 17th, so if you want to enter, please submit your car within the next few days.

Once all the cars have been submitted, the Speedhunters staff will analyze them as a group, and select a list of final nominees. These nominees will be combined with some of the other great readers rides from 2010, and presented to the readers next week for a final vote – just like the other Speedhunters Award categories.
