As I'm just about to board my plane to Colorado, I thought I'd quickly post this teaser video of Rhys Millen testing his PM580 Pike's Peak Hyundai. This car is nuts. It's going to be a fantastic battle between Monster Tajima and Rhys. Is the hungry Monster going to break 10 minutes or will this Le Mans prototype look-alike car-from-the-future take it?

im absolutely in love with that car. no compromise, no-holds barred performance. straight up. form only comes in the equation due to the function being so perfect... the bodywork, all the scoops, vents, and NACA's there in their perfect spots for maximum performance. that is the most perfect form i can imagine, one born from pure function. amazing, i hope he eats that mountain alive.
Beautiful piece of machinery. Just wondering why they use a steel tube-chassis instead of a carbonfiber monocoque? Because of harsher driving conditions?
