Allen over at Tomei Powered just sent me the link to this Motive DVD video of the Advan/Hi-Octane Racing R34 GT-R testing in preparation for the upcoming World Time Attack Challenge in Eastern Creek Raceway. Enjoy the scream of that RB30!

Looks like it needs a lot more traction...

2

I kept waiting for the driver side window to come flying off.

3

this car is insane!! Looks like every panel is going to fly off it

4

thats abit crazy aint it haha love it

5

Love the outside shot where you can see the window flexing.

6

i love the why the GTR's slide, so aggressive.

their R32 was ridiculous... this 34 is totally insane,

7

Looks like he has his hands full

8

yeah either that or the driver is a little to caviler with the throttle letting the awd correct his jumping on the power to early. needs some lexan windows!! they can reduce so much weight by replacing the windshields and windows with lexan ones. i still loveeeeee this car it looks so menacing

9

that thing is nuts.

10

I think that car has a long way to go before is starts to get close to the Lanevo..

11

Needs some ducktape on his windows.

12

really looks like a beast.. but.. it needs more traction.. looks like a normal RWD car.. the mines r34 GTR would beat the "kinderkacke" out of it..

13

looks like ALOT of fun

14

Its faster than you think and it was a "test" day.

The 3-liter with little turbos and E85 almost makes the car TOO responsive. the mid range torque is what causes the wheelspin. The Cyber Evo has years of developments. They'll get there.

Oh, and the side windows and rear are lexan.

Hope you all enjoy the vid. Thanks Dino

15

Going to be the biggest, most hyped....supersprint day Australia's ever seen.

16

Absolutely cracking. Many thanks for putting that together, awesome to get to see some more progress on this car.

18

Yeah is very cool car with a lot of power but dont have precision.

So theres 2 things that why this championship needs.

First the best of the best of TA Cars of Japan I mean GARAGE ITO PROSTOCK GT-R and HKS CT230R and the REVOLUTION TA2.

And the other thing is the track have to be more tracks and tipical tracks of every Country in the Championship.

19

What a BEAST. That thing sounds super impressive. The power slides are just flat out awesome. You forget how much you love GT-R's until a video like this pops up on the net and all you can think about is a screaming RB even while your wife or girlfriend is chirping at you to clean the garage out.

20

You can see the driver fighting against the car. it looks like the rear wing doesnt help much.

21

That skyline moving tail out on those turns looks hot. Is that the hood doing some major bowing and flexing at high speed? The have the performance now they have to make sure the panels and windows stay in place.

22

POWER OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

23

was that a radical it just raped???

24

23 comments and NO ONE pointed out how unfair this race is !

@ Motive DVD: the Advan Skyline and its team get to prictice on their own turf for the event 2 MONTHS in advance !!!! How uncool is that ??????

While other team are at home fixing up their car.

This is really BS.

NO ONE of the partecipant should be allowed to practice on that track before the event. That way you'll have a fair race.

25

The Alex is back. The established tuners in Japan go to Tsukuba every other weekend, but if it were being held there I'm sure you wouldn't be complaining about fairness.

26

I came back and watched it again twice. I was feeling a little down. I love reading the YouTube comments. One jag off said something along the lines of "I think it could be tuned better" or something like that... Listen jag off, if that car needs more power I am sure they will be calling your YouTube fanboy status up on the phone and asking for tuning tips. Hopefully your mom doesn't answer and have to put the call through to your bed room... I mean office. That GTR is beast city.

27

Mark went to Tsukuba and battled them, now they can come here to battle us...simple really.

And Yokohama/Superlap are the ones putting up the ridiculous amounts of money required to fund the eevent. If someone else has the money, you may speak now about how to run an event. Until then, just be happy Australia is doing an event like this and enjoy it!!!!!!

Who cares if the car isn't dialled in yet, its AWESOME to watch!!!!! If it understeered everywhere it would be boring. And its called testing for a reason....testing what works

Sounds like the winter Olympics all over again. Every one thought that Canada would do amazing in the alpine events because they have bin using the runs for years... once you learn the coarse you know the coarse. Trust me, I race.

Awesome video Motive DVD, cant wait to see what the car can do!

30

@ Chris: That's why you don't see a "World Time Attack Challenge" at Tsukuba. And yes, I would complain if it was held there.

Fair game means a track where no one could practice on.

31

Welcome to the world of racing, where racing is held on racing tracks that people have driven on more then other people all the time. When the OK autocross was held out of town last year I showed up not knowing that the locals have bin doing the same set up for four years. yet I managed to finish in the top 5 out of the 48 locals that raced. I beat them at their own track with only 3 runs of practice.

32

serious car lads best of luck against the japs, only other car i can compare it to, is the TDP r32gtr time attack weapon of robbie thorton, alot of similaritys between two cars, e85, adjustable rear wing, lots of bhp and lots of torque steer, it would be a great match between he two.. that wil never happen lol

This car has more power and more torque than the mines GTR... we have a 'copy car' of the mines gtr (same motor, gear EVERYTHING) here in aus and by no means can keep up with this. THATS how fast it is.

Guys in Japan get to practice on Tsukuba whenever they want, why cant we practice here and keep developing the car? Theres no other race track in NSW with similar speeds, they practice close to home to keep costs down and that means... Eastern creek. Fairs fair.

34

sigh... so many deuce bags on speedhunters...

35

Are there any UK cars coming out for this, or is australia a stretch too far?

36

UK guys dont want to loose points in their local series so wont come.

37

Yet another case of brawn before brains.

This car has no grip mid corner what so ever, is moving around way more than it should be under brakes, is seemingly coming apart when under acceleration, delivers power unevenly ( possibly due to an inferior driver ) and the fact the maker of the DVD had to come on here - at numerous points - to defend the "all over the shop" characteristics of the car speaks volumes.

It's amazing to me that, during the 5 minutes I wasted watching this video - 5 minutes I will never get back, I came to realize that these Australians are in this just because of the massive chip they have on their shoulder that stems from personal insecurities over others being better than they are at what they do.

I personally hope the Japanese cars rip you a new one because the underdog tag you claim to hold so dear is nothing more than thinly veiled contempt toward others that are clearly superior to you. The Japanese are not going down there to just make up the numbers, they are going to conquer this event and hopefully it will give you some reason to reconsider your attitudes. Australia still has an amazingly large amount to learn when it comes to thinking "outside the boundaries of its own existence."

Cars are not supposed to be absolute nightmares to drive quick and that car is something I would avoid driving at all costs not least of all because of the questionable intent behind the creation.

And having 700hp is worthless if you don't have the right person to steer the car by the way. In another drivers hands - a professional pair of hands, that car may make it to a place where it will be competitive but as it stands it is basically only fast in a straight line and steered by a driver who isn't known to anyone in other parts of the world. The very fact that a man like Yamada, a hired gun - a driver who is leagues better than Berry, will show them how it is supposed to be driven. And should you try to comment on Tarzan being brash behind the wheel of super cars with power beyond their means, remember that Tarzan is a monster who controls the vehicle where Berry is quite often a passenger.

Good luck winning the event. It's only going to be by bias that you will.

38

im not even gonna bother explaining anything to this guy. I just gonna say:

shut up idiot

@ hairyjew

Blah Blah Listen to me I'm special.

You do realise that they are testing the car don't you? The cyber evo, m-speed gtr, panspeed rx7 and every other time attack, drift, race and whatever else car went through similar stuff, before they got it right.

Also Berry owns, helped build and drives the car, fastest lap times or not, that is far more respectable than a large company hiring a pro driver to compete for them

41

yeah fuck those australians, they host a time attack 'cause they're insecure and you have their whole populations psychological issues 100% sussed out over a youtube video of some dude driving his own car. Bias goes a long way in time attack, cause lap times are like, judged. those fucking idiot australians are like the most multicultural people on earth so for sure they don't know about anything that happens outside their own country.

fuck dude, you're the one with the psychologies issues and a huge chip on the shoulder in the shape of a kid getting raped by a koala. seriously, were you molested by a kangaroo or something 'cause i can smell the bitterness in your tears from here.

btw marks still doing 1:40's afaik. even the bsm gtr has done a 1:37. theres a couple of aussie GTR's that have gone quicker than him at EC, not including interstate cars and none of them will be at the time attack. mark and everyone else with a clue here knows he needs to lift his game bigtime to take on the cyber evo. none of us are holding our breath, i think the cyber evo will doing at least 1:35s and i doubt mark can lop FIVE seconds off his lap times.

btw its making a lot more than 700bhp.

hairyjew: mark is no steering god but you still have less talent than mark has in the fungal growth under his big toenail. kudos to mark for building, owning and driving his own car.

ps. please name a place in the world that has a decent quality track that wouldn't have a 'home team'?

peace

42

I love a rear GT-Wing very very muchhhhhhh;

It's Execellent.

43

Mark has previously done a 1.37 also, the day this was filmed was 2 days after a massive car show was held at the track where everyone was doing burnouts all the way round the track. I spoke to a number of people there that day and they were all way off their normal pace due to the track condition.

44

Good to hear, he still has a lot of work to do...
