Car Sighting>> Ek Type R

On my way back from a certain photoshoot I spotted this yellow EK Type R that has been imported either from Japan or the UK because the steering wheel was on the ‘wrong' side. It was cool to see this yellow car in between all the other dull looking cars. I didn't got a chance to shoot anymore because it's hard to handle your camera and the steering wheel at the same time, haha.

the licnese plate blends in perfectly hahaha

2

Japanese import ;)

3

IIRC, EK type R's were never released in the UK. The closest to the R was the limited edition Jordan. It'll be a jap import.

4

right side!

5

Unless its an NSX, i rarely like Hondas. Only the ones that arent riced out, like 99% of them are.

6

Ah always good to see more RHD drivers in the Netherlands! Everyone is always quick to judge here that it's the on the wrong side and unpractical and stuff, but screw that all the awesome Japanese cars are RHD! If anyone owns a RHD car in the Netherlands, take a look at RHDClub.nl. Pretty wide variety of cars on there, from Glanzas to Skylines!

7

I see these in Jamaica on a daily basis, not a big deal

"I didn't got a chance to shoot anymore because it's hard to handle your camera and the steering wheel at the same time..." That's what she said! Nah, just joking. Anyway, it's nice to see a well done EK9, even if it's stock. A lot better than a lot of glorified Si's down here in the states.

9

Nice. I still don't get what the light near the exhaust is...

10

That's a fog light, also how you know it's a Japanese import as cars for the UK market have them built-in to the rear light cluster.

12

Wow you should get yourself to Galway, Type R's are as common as muck here!

13

nice

i love my ek sticker on his rear window! :)

seen this car before... not a stranger of car shows...

14

but his car isn't the only one beeing yellow!

15

boring car

16

He said it was imported from JPN or UK. He didnt said it was sold in UK... you can import from UK a lot of JDM cars. Think first then type comments.

17

yeah looks like it came from japan to the uk and then was taken to the netherlands, hence the rear fog light on the bumper which would have been needed to get it road legal in the uk.

18

I wish posts like this wasnt on speedhunters.

Used to be all killer and no filler, but now its just full of pointless posts like this.

Fail, hugely

19

Rear foglight is also needed in the Netherlands and you also need to change the headlights (well when you get APK/MOT every year), because Japanese lights shine slightly to the wrong side.

20

Nice, probably after the RSP meet :D

I was there too with my RHD Honda Legend Coupe.

RHD is the right side! :D

21

i love type R, i can say if you were driving and shooting at the same time, this photo came very well haha :D

22

Hahaha that's my brother in law :P He went to the RSP meet.

There aren't that much EK9's in the Netherlands so i think it's pretty cool!

Also because i know it's not a stock EK9 under the hood anymore. :p

Thumbs up bro!

@burdo and anyone else complaining about the posts: It's the Mother ****ing off season, for a lot of the sports around the world. Give Speedhunters a break, wait another month or so, and come back while not looking like a goddamn ass all the time. Jesus Christ, you all talk like you can run your know how to run a car site better. Nascar's in their season now, but I doubt any in the SpeedHunters crowd would like to hear anything about that unless it was the goddamn Camry they were covering. Shut the hell up already.

Nice 3series btw Jeroen

26

I echo what Shut Up is saying. Car season is literally dead. Bloggers are struggling for content. If you don't like it, go and build a better blog!

27

yeah we get those in the UK, they're ok.. not many people want that colour though.. but hey, it's all down to personal taste..

28

Congrats on making it to speedhunters, mister Ivo

Have fun with your B18 powered EK9

Big up to the guys in ilovemyek.com !
