Some more big news for Formula Drift today. Falken Tire has just announced the latest addition to their drift team for 2010 – Justin Pawlak. Justin will be driving an ASD-prepped 2010 Ford Mustang similar to Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s – making for two Mustangs on the Falken team. This is huge news for Team Falken, and a big move for JTP, who impressed last season in the Bergenholtz RX8.
The 2010 season just keeps sounding better and better…

what you guys fail to realize...... keys open doors. he still owns a FC, he still will do demos in the FC, ASB in the fc, and he still LOVES fc's! this is his job, why wouldnt you take this LARGE opporitunity? this is a stair step in the right direction, and at the moment he has to do what falken suggest, who knows... he may kick major ass this year, and then they might ask him what he wants to drive next year.... who knows what the future may hold, BUT this is definitely a stair step to MAJOR MOVES!

2 Falken Mustangs , thats gunna be awesome, clearly nobody who has had negative comments understands the finacial issues some drivers face when it comes to competing in a sport such as drifting, this will definatlly bring excitment to the mustang fans, i wonder if they are going with the same paint scheme??

I think it's a safe bet that he'll probably be campaigning a slightly re-vamped version JR's ride from last season. I for one cant wait to see JTP ripping it up in a Mustang. Although his FC is one of the most iconic drift cars in the US, the financial burdon of supporting himself for the 2010 season out of his own pocket would have been quite heavy. I'm very glad JTP was given this oppertunity after his steller performance in the RX8 last year and I look forward to 2010 as yet another breakout year for one of the US's most popular drifters.

awesome JTP!! not a huge mustang fan but it will be interesting to see him driving it. It's my opinion JTP has a quicker more stylish way of drifting than JR so he will for sure have a lot of attention this year. If anyone could persuade drifters to maybe think about driving a mustang it would be Justin. Good luck in 2010

If you guys were actually JTP fans and supporters you'd be happy for him in any chassis.
It's obvious that many of you are selfish little girls that want their faaavorite chassis in FD at JTP's personal expense, rather than have him successful and sponsored in a Mustang.
Most drivers would drive a hot pink Barbie-sponsored VW beetle if it was free and competitive. That's the point of spending their own cash for a year or two... get noticed and picked up by a team like Falken so that they can be free of the financial burden and concentrate on driving.
Go get 'em JTP, loved watching you in that RX8 and I'm sure you'll be a blast to watch in the Ford too.
like i said before--personally I would perfer to see him in the rx7 or something rotary powered, but being a realist i understand that this move is beneficial. why would we want to keep a good driver broke, barefoot, and hungry, just to see him drive a car we would love to see him in--- just so that we can feel comfortable with what is happening. trust me---and i say that loosely, this IS a beneficial move towards justins future and this will put him in a better position to do OTHER things in the upcoming future. i think everyone should be more concerned with justins PERSONAL style, and what his 2011 chassis will look like. falken is putting him in a position to not just be a star----but to become a superstar this season. i would rather see my favorite driver do well and make every event---than see him out there doing well, then after the event stressing trying to figure out the next move to make it to the next round. this is a GOOD thing ladies----like i said earlier, you never know--- you never know what they will allow him to do next season. let this man live progress and get paid, and become the superstar he is GOING to be. think about it--- he climbs in the ranks every year, i'm excited to see what cuzzo is going to do this year with a big program.

They ALL have too many S15s with same kit, same R7s, same Skylines....same S13s...where the hell do you get off thinking it's only FD? Actually, look deeper at the roster of cars in FD and the others. You get more variety in FD. Go sit on a flagpole. And the level of driving? Gap is getting smaller and smaller every year.
Every time I start to think the commenters on SH are starting to get some class (like the GNRS posts), then a post like (most of) the above happens. And I lose much respect for the majority of you.

Don't go to events, and don't support FD...that way they won't sell tickets and this sport eventually will die (like the way it should). There are TOO many deuches in this "sports" that want to have a slice of the pie, but the cake ain't that big.
Stay home and watch ice-skating instead, same entertainment.
