Was browsing through the BMW press photo archive when I found this great shot showing the lineage of the BMW Roadster spanning all the way from the early '30s to the Z8 Roadster of of the late '90s.
We'll have to try and dig up some more open-top BMW's to showcase before the month is up…

nice! i've seen a couple Z1's flying around here in London, a yellow one and a red one, they're very funky
I love those doors on the Z1. Not the most practical but fun and different for sure.
No Z4?
seeing Z8s are always a rare occurrence, but when I do it gives me a great feeling. Its not the kind of car you kind of buy; you know what you have.
This picture isn't recent so it's not gonna have the 2005 Z4 or the new 2009 Z4 35i.
Z1 brings back fond memories of driving around with my dad in Bavarian Countryside with the doors down listening to ZZ Top... awesome car!
