Random Snap>>hakosuka In The Rain At Fuji 1972

Some more vintage goodness from the Nissan archive here. This shot was taken in the rain at Fuji Speedway during the opening round of the Fuji Grand Championship Series in March, 1972. By this point the GT-R race cars had switched from the four-door PGC10's featured in yesterday's post to the newer and sleeker KPGC10 coupes like this one. This #15 car was driven by the legendary racer Kunimitsu Takahashi and is probably the world's most well known Hakosuka Skyline. The KPGC10 in the UK that appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed is a replica of this car.

The Taka bros are elite!

Ah... Kunimitsu Takahashi - the REAL father of modern drifting.

Also, that hakosuka's pattern is just legendary nowadays. Most hakosuka models and toys i've seen have at least a variant with this pattern (which is really cool in a retro kind of way).

Is that a wheel-whores.com sticker on the C-pillar?...
