Our friends at Pass B-Side, who have been behind the WRT clips from FIA GT1 and Blancpain this year, are currently out in the deserts of Egypt covering the Rallye Des Pharaons. It’s part of the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup, and involves driving buggies and bikes at, over, round and through the toughest, sandiest conditions imaginable. This clip shows off the punishment the competitors and their mounts take as they hammer through the dunes, with some super slow-mo action – it’s like they’re driving across Mars!
The rally started and finishes at the base of the Giza pyramids, providing a fittingly inspiring background to such a challenging event. The rally’s final stage is tomorrow, following five days of auto torture with stages of hundreds of kilometres in length, each taking four or five hours to complete. Epic!
