Car Spotlight>> Ryo Odyvia

OK so I would usually post spotlights after I'm over and done with an event coverage but I just couldn't wait. I just had to show you all this crazy S13 that R.Y.O in Hiroshima built…

…and that was on display in front of the Rays Engineering booth at yesterday's D1 final in Fuji Speedway.

These Odyvia conversions are getting pretty popular and while it's nothing new, the execution and detailing sure is. The R.Y.O kit is awesome, widening the S13 considerably for a proper drift-oriented stance.

The 17-inch, Neova-wrapped, TE37Vs suit the car perfectly…

…a great match for R.Y.O's usual wild style.

Check out the oversized URAS vortex generators attached to the rear diffuser.

On the driver's side of the car the TE37Vs run different coloring.

Tough choice! Which would you choose, the metallic silver with polished lip, or Volk's signature matte bronze?

It's all in the details, from the twin exhaust to the lip spoiler and pink-tinted glass.

The contrasting black under-canards, grille and hood vents are nice touches too.

This is the freshest drift car I've seen this year!

Opinions?

It'd look much nicer without the excess 'aero' bits, I think.

2

Those vortex generators are too much for me, other than that I love it!

I honestly think it could use some crazier aero LOL. Wild canards and stuff like that are a trademark of Garage RYO.This seems to be a lot more subtle than their other cars. Not dissapointed, but an intresting departure from their style. Love the two-toned wheels though. They looked great on Takayama-san's FD too. Next big thing?

Love Odyvias and this one is no exception, although some cleaner canards instead of those huge URAS vortex generators would make this perfect.

8

Wallpaper!!!!!!!

9

wow!!!!!! sex on wheels!!!!!

I think these days the word "freshest" gets thrown around too much, and honestly it gets a little boring to hear it over and over again.

Let's use some proper English and replace the word "fresh" with "innovative" or "unique" shall we?

I don't see anything "freshest" on this nice S13, sure it looks cool, but there are tons of other S13 that look as cool as this one.

Speedhunters should replace the catchy phrase, "car culture at large" with "believe the hype"; that suits better this site's philosophy.

11

Front end conversion, lots of questionable aero bits and... stock brakes? No thanks.

12

I would die for this!! for god sake

13

I like it. stance, look, and wheels.

14

BANG BANG SKEET SKEET.

....that is all ;)

15

How's about a shot of the engine bay???

16

Its the perfect example of form and function

i need desktops

17

silver with polished lip please :P

18

This is my old daily S13 when I lived in Japan. I gave the car to RYO-san when I left Japan in consideration to all the help he has provided for me in 4 years. In the past year he has transformed it into this. If you visit my facebook page u will see it with Gram Light 57d's yellow/ pink, mid night purple paint and very BORO BORO looking. I cant believe what he has done with it.!

THANKS RYO-san!!

19

Really cool, I like the silver wheels on it.

20

Wickedly cool S13! Not my choice of wheels with that colour though. I think i'd go with something a bit more underappreciated like some Tri-spoke Advans colour matched haha

Anyone notice the sticker on the window says

"Make an.

Wake of Art. R-Y-O"

wtf does that mean? haha

21

The perfect drift car. Well done. Probably one of the best Ive seen.

22

Love RYO cars! In my personal opinion, and kinda piggie backing on what Bradders said, take off the extra vortex generators and bronze on both sides.

23

That front end is intimidating.

24

Woooooow..!!

26

are those Honda Odysee headlights?

27

I love this style, wild bodykit, a wild color, all blended together into one beautiful mix!

28

So this Odyvia conversion... is it a kit now?

29

Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn!!! It looks amazing! I`d choose the Matt Bronze Volks!

30

Not sure about the additional aero add-ons, but it looks great with the matte bronze wheels.

31

I think it looks amazing! I have loved the Odyvia-kit since I saw the pictures of it in the Exciting Car Showdown. This S13 looks so good with these colors; that's one of the things I love about Japan, they do different things!

I would put the metallic silver TE37Vs on both sides, though. The contrast is much nicer.; the bronze ones don't look that good, I believe.

33

Cool aero kit.... wtf?

34

Specs on the wheels?

35

Keep those Vortex Generators, a little hellafunctional extravaganza adds up to a neat little beast

37

My God!!! Picture 4,5,6,7 &8 -Look at the fit and finish on those 'glass panels, it's shocking, no lines match up, whatta slapper!!

38

Doesn't get much better.

39

love it.

very out there styling but it works well.

i like the twin coloured wheels.

since when did TE37V's come in 17"? i thought they were 16's max. man i gotta get out from under my rock more often

40

I've read about this kit before. It uses Honda headlights!

41

R.Y.O kit really is awesome,, hands up for Rays Engineering, Really great looking Car.. I was stunned how the Headlights looks at you, So mean!. the Reddish pink paint is super shiny at daylight, the car really shows what his got, and It's my Mom's Birthday today Oct. 25. I Love you Mama Luz,.. & 4 days from now It will be my Birthday.. Hahaha!

42

I'm not a fan of this kit. The front bumper lines makes it look like its sagging all the time. The front grill design and the gap makes it look like they ran out of ideas and just slapped it in there. The fenders look too bubbly and don't really flow. Overall just kinda awkward, hot import nightish.

43

the only problem I have with odyvia's is that no-one seems to notice that gaping hole between the top of the grille and the bonnet, it ruins the whole front of the car in my opinion :/ as for the wheels, the bronze looks smoother, while the gunmetal/polished wheels just make it look like an American built it from a parts catalouge and some old drift magazines, but neither colour choice seems to suit the car...

loving the body work though :D looks very aggressive!

44

JDMized i think i speak for all of us when i say you should go kill yourself

45

dbd arrancar is very right

47

Canard Crazy at the rears!

Looks great.

But prefer the car without all the add on aero bits.

48

Cool front end..

How about the same styling on a s13 hatch instead? hahah. .Just my thoughts..

49

Sexy as hell! love the bronze TEs my fav rim!

50

@drakeonyou

That is actually not a bad idea at all. The whole kit would give the S13 hatch a modern sil80 look.

That front end very sleek for one.

51

It was a real pity that Daigo Saito made a mistake in the first tsuiso battle of the D1 final in Fuji

52

Would LOVE TO SEE IT LOWER, WITH WIDER LOWER OFFSET WHEELS MATTE BRONZE ALL THE WAY!!!

53

From rotaries we move onto some S-chassis, but since there weren't that many this year I've decided

54

This is definitely within my top 3 favorite Silvias.
