This particular entry was one the Speedhunters team debated over, but we couldn't ignore the sheer number of comments from our readers who asked for it to be included. Fellow Aussie Dean Evans, a well known motoring journalist, raced in the 2005 Lotus Trophy series at the fabled Mount Panorama circuit in Bathurst. It was a reverse grid race, meaning Evans started in 16th place (with 12 faster Elises behind him). He cut his way through the field to make it into 1st position in less than a lap.

One of the only times i have seen some pass on the outside at Mcphillamy . and a 3 car pass through the blind entry from skyline into the esses .takes some balls . But the way he cut his way through the field like he was reading the other drivers minds up to the cutting was brillance .

4

holy fucking shit lol i wish i could drive like that

5

that was enjoyable to watch. never seen this one before.

6

that was like spec miata racing but with more expensive cars and even crazier drivers!

10

Wow, and it's a bigger achievement considering he had the extra weight of his massive pure-steel cojones in his car....

11

only someone who has driven that track can truely appreciate how EPIC that video actually is

12

were those guys seriously racing hard? looks like he was going up against amateur teen drivers.

13

Yeah I can't see why this one wouldn't have made the list, it is an amazing bit of footage!

14

Thats was AWESOME! Heart beat jumped to about 150 watching that!

15

dont think anyone can say that this doesnt take a form of skill.

16

cool.. cooler.. coolest! thats some wicked driving - Thanks

17

but did he stay in the lead until the end of the race? :P

18

Amateur drivers, it seems that they don't know the track

19

It's like watching a replay from gran turismo

20

we Aussie can drive :)

21

wow. simply amazing. obviously that was some very good driving but the other thing that stood out was how clean the racing was concidering how tight it was. great video.

22

O.O wtf!? he really feel the cars limit!

23

Spectacular !

24

this is my favorite of the top 20 passes, it was 16 amazing passes in just over 2 min. top 20 was a great idea!!!!!!

25

how bout loosing the clutch on the line and dropping to last at bathurst and coming back over 5 laps to claim back all 33 places in a formula ford??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1zi4FgUEmc&feature=related

26

I saw it for the first time years ago, but I still get impressed by this video every time I see it. That guy has balls, that's for sure!

27

i got to admit, that was some clean racing from all the drivers, to get that close at bathurst and NOT crash..thats skill, but to pass that many cars in that amount of time, well i dont know what that is haha, especially the way he passed three cars from mcphillamy into the dipper...thats just crazy lol, i take my hat off to the guy!

28

top class over takin !!!

29

the amount of fun that looks like should be illegal.

30

woo-hoo - bout time this made this list - was starting to think these overtake-articles were all going to be failure-1 cars

:)

31

In my totally unbiased opinion, I think it's #1.

32

I can watch this over & over again since it is breath taking!

33

slightly silly...

34

That was unreal, and impressive, almost seemed like a video game

35

Some good drivin there. Seriously.

36

wow. reminded me a lot like Gran Turismo lol

37

Through those chicanes trying to get 1st... pure madness....

38

Just like Gran Turismo without hitting other cars to pass :p

39

Wow, awesome! Crazy skills. Like playing a video game on easy mode...

40

ITS LIKE HERBIE !!!

Amazing. The pilot went just perfect. Drove the car on the astral level! This famous passage only did Senna at Monaco Grand Prix in 1988!
