That is DEI Reflect-a-Gold, it will (as the name suggests) reflect heat away from the valve cover.

I got the chance to meet some of the guys from Unlimited Works on October 7th, 2006 at Virginia International Raceway at the GT LIVE time attack event. They campaigned the stateside versions of the CyberEVO. The guy in my photo applying the “SUN Automobile” vinyl looks to be the same fellow in photo #6 in this feature story.

I might be about 10,000 miles away from these kinds of passionate tuning shops such seen in Japan but doesn’t stop me from appreciating them and the really cool people who are still running them! Speedhunters please continue to share these people and their amazing shops with all of the people around the world!

Btw, can anyone answer me what the advantage is of using heat tape on the valve cover like that?
