During a Golden Week trip in 2018, I was lucky enough to drive that little gem on a touge near Chichibu, Saitama. John, a mutual friend of mine and Skorj’s, had discovered the twisty bit of road the week before and the invitation to explore it (and see some fields of Shibazakura in bloom) was easy to accept. At one point, Skorj wanted to get a few pics of his car being exercised so he offered me the keys. The little S800M had no trouble pacing (and setting the pace for) John and his BMW.

Fun times. I miss those guys. Heck, I miss Japan.
