Tokyo Auto Salon: A Different Perspective

We’re always trying to come up with different ways in which to share the car culture we hunt out around the world.

For this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon we wanted to add to our usual in-depth coverage by creating a film to showcase this massive event through our eyes.

We once again called Phil Boquida on board to follow me around, stopping off at the cars that stood out the most to us Speedhunters. More to the point, we wanted to introduce a new dimension to our coverage, one we know you’ll like. This is one is a little bit longer that what we’ve put together in the past and we hope you enjoy  experiencing TAS from a different perspective.

Glad you enjoyed!

NIce video but I have a question :
Where was the micro when Dino's talking? I sometimes had the impression that the volume goes up and down when he talk :(

Yeah we noticed the issue, will figure out a better way to do it on the next video!

That chopped carbon fibre sure looks interesting.
I wonder if it will catch on as a new trend.
I can see it looking cool for certain applications, but also looking super cheesy in the wrong application.

8

I would love to see it outside the automotive world. Phone cases, knife handles, bikes, etc.

I agree, somehow just doesn't look right in a car. Same for the real deal that Lamborghini makes. It's interesting as a new way to mold and produce carbon parts but I'd painted the damn things lol

Loved the video was just hard to hear the commentary

Yeah sorry about that we had issues with the mic

I like the way this was put together. Often times these types of videos are over edited (imo) with awful soundtracks lol.
The boxy little Benz caught my attention.

That white M6 looks FANTASTIC.
Looking forward to an upcoming feature of it!

As much as I love saving photos, this site is begging for more video features. I hope to see more in the future; this one (short of the audio, which I see you've addressed) was really well done.

I am sorry Bass but our love is no longer exclusive :)

A bit of feedback, if you can make dialogue +5Dbfs or 1 PPM louder than the music it will help with the transitions but I can imagine it would have been hard to amplify the dialogue with all the background noise present. Shotgun Mics FTW
