The car's styling is totally function over form. It does a good job at making downforce, but makes the car look horrible. It's a big deal breaker. Apart from that, the technicall side of the car is pretty good for a Fwd hatchback. The combination of vtec and turbo is brilliant, the front suspension is good, and the transmission cooler is "one of a kind" in this Fwd class. Also the use of a single mass flywheel adds for reliability. If only they can tame a little bit the styling, and swap the wheels from 20" to 19", the car could be excellent overall.

At first glance, terrible looking car. But maybe the styling can grow on me a little. Cool to see Honda bringing a performance model stateside finally, like Mitsubishi and Subaru did years ago.

As for the reviewer, I'm surprised he fit in that little car! The helmet fitment was more likely an issue of the obese guy with a hipster/wannabe-mountain-man beard trying to stuff his face into that poor noggin protector! Time for a haircut, shave, and many miles of jogging.

No, we should not have to do that. The car should look good out of the box.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as is said.
Honestly, just drive it, feel it, and see it for yourself. We can spend our time arguing back and forth about this and that, but just give it a drive before judging and hating it. What's that saying? Never judge a book by its cover?
