Awesome write up Paddy. Still unsure how you managed to get the car that clean at Mondello.. We couldn't find a car wash anywhere!
I had the same issue with my brakes near the end of the evening session in the E90 (Daily). Pedal to the floor and pumping to get to brake, along with strong vibration. Managed to drive it home after letting it sit for half hour. Replaced the brake pads and discs and it's sorted the problem. Track ate my two new Pirreli P Zero's at the end of the day when it dried out. Expensive day to say the least, but an amazing experience. Air suspension seems to have worked really well out on the track.

I have been rereading the whole saga as I just bought the same car. I can't seem to find any details on the aero bits you added. I love the "duck tail" extension on the hatch. Who makes it? Thank you

Great read! As I just purchased a 2010 GTI with DSG and am planning to do some track days, it was interesting to find out about the DSG related brake issue. Keep us posted!

Funnily enough my brother and I had a very similar problem with his evo at a goodwood trackday while using DS2500's. Started well enough but after a few sessions started to get juddering through the steering wheel underbraking.
We suspected that the brakes just hadn't had a chance to bed in nicely after the skimming and needed a bit of time to get settled.

To help the brakes we took it easy braking earlier for longer and not as hard in order to bed the pads in again. After 2 15min sessions we could feel a vast improvement and in the afternoon all was working perfectly.

It's a 2010 DSG in carbon metallic gray. So far I've got a Unitronic intake, R8 coils, and Neuspeed RSe52 wheels. It's my first car and I'm on the fence about keeping it for several years and making it a serious build, or just sticking to basic mods and selling it after college.
