News>> Nissan Considering Smaller Sports Cars

Rumors of Nissan developing a new entry level sports car have been popping up for years. With the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ taking the enthusiast world by storm, rumors of this future Nissan have started up once again. This time though, the word comes from the mouth of Nissan chief designer Shiro Nakamura. In a recent interview with Australia’s Drive Nakamura said he likes the idea of small sports cars and that the brand could introduce a new enthusiast model if there is a market for it. He also mentioned that Nissan is considering downsizing the next generation Z in both size and engine displacement.

What do you think about the idea of a smaller, lighter Z? How about the revival of the Silvia to fight the new boxer-powered twins?

Don't downsize the Z's engine (it can be lighter though) make it more powerful. Revive the Silvia. S16 FTW!

as a previous owner of an S13 hatchback, I approve. I would buy Nissan over toyota/scion anyday. Flame suit on, but id take an SR20DET over any Subie boxer.

Bring back the silvia. But you MFERS BETTER PUT A DAMN TURBO ENGINE IN IT!!!!!!! No damn truck motors.

I agree for reviving the silvia, but smaller Z's is in my opinion a very bad idea.

The Z is perfect as it sits. The S16 needs to happen though. As Long as a new high revving Turbo Flat Four is put in it it'll be perfect. Say 230-250 hp would feel right, and then Nissan wouldn't have to worry about losing sales from the 370. I want this to happen, as a S13 owner.

its been 11 long years since the S15 stopped production...S16 is way overdue
