News>>subaru Brz To Appear In Frankfurt

Subaru’s version of the rear-drive coupe being codeveloped with Toyota finally has a name – the BRZ. In case you were wondering, BRZ stands for “Boxer Rear-drive Zenith” and with a name like that it better be good.

Subaru has started to tease the concept new model, which will appear at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Production is scheduled to start next spring.

You can bet we are counting down the days to Frankfurt to see what Subaru has in store for us!

I wonder how it's gonna look like!!

2

hopefully it wont be as ugly as the FT86 II concept.

3

do we know what it looks like yet compared to the FT-86? judging from Subaru's current lineup I'm not getting excited

4

BRZ...huh? That's a different name. Can't wait to see what the Subaru model finally looks like.

5

I still can't believe they are going against all their marketing and releasing a RWD car. Maybe that is the reason for the the very un-Subaru name. Also, any confirmation if the production version is to be released at Tokyo Auto Show this year?

6

Lets hope it looks cleaner than the FT-86. Really excited.

7

So Subaru is now going to stop making actual cars and start making roman numeral numbered concepts. So is this I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII................? This will all be really neat when we all move into virtual reality, but the endless parade of non-production concepts suck in the real world.

8

I cant wait

9

It's not a real Subaru unless it has AWD. Older models before the AWD standard are okay, but newer ones need AWD from the factory to truly be from the Subaru name.

10

no AWD? Fail.

11

To me, the rear looks like it might be similar to the 4th gen liberty/legacy. The front maybe a bit like a Honda S2000 or the Top Secret supra.

I am curious to see how the drive line holds up to punishment. The current AWD gear isnt exactly renowned for its longevity when converted to RWD,

12

Subaru has the weakest and most non informative press relaease. Bah.

13

IMO, they should make it AWD... well...even if they don't they should rebadge it as a "new" Alcyone. SVX model anyone?

14

i bet both the brz and the fr-s are going to be intertwined like the eagle talon and mistubishi eclipse

15

Form the shape, it looks more conventional than the FT-86...and that's a good thing for me

16

Subaru plss come back to WRC

17

yeah

Subaru plss come back to WRC

18

I'm getting the STI version of this

19

will never see production
