Although it was once a home-field battleground between Ford and Holden, the Australian V8 Supercar series is quickly becoming an international endeavor. Besides the recent additions of Mercedes-Benz and Nissan to the series, Volvo has just announced that it will enter competition in 2014 with its Polestar Racing operation running the Volvo S60. To commemorate the announcement, Volvo has also released this video showing some of the brand’s historic touring car memories and also a glimpse at the future.
How can you not like the idea of a Swedish V8 Supercar?
We are a little over a week away from the 2013 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and for Porsche fans that means we’re also one year from that brand’s much publicized return to Le Mans. As part of the Le Mans fever that is currently sweeping the motorsport world, Porsche has released the first images of its 2014 LMP contender. They have yet to release any sort of technical specs for the car, but Porsche has made it quite to clear that they aim to win in ’14. For now, we can look over the lightly disguised prototype and imagine what’s going to happen come next June.
