The premise was simple: an Aston Martin Vanquish, a posh manor house, a cup of tea and possibly a slice of cake. Matching up a modern classic with an appropriately refined backdrop, whilst getting an impression of how a sportscar like this drives – a car that Aston itself calls ‘the ultimate GT’. The company is [...]

What do you do when you meet your hero? Do you talk to them, say hello, shoot the breeze, or stay at a distance, just hoping to catch their eye for a subtle sign of recognition? What if it’s an inanimate object, like the McLaren F1? Then things can get really weird… especially if other [...]

The Audi TT-RS racecar which tackled the Thunderhill 25 Hours at the end of last year in the hands of Calfornia-based 034Motorsport looked standard enough, mighty wings aside. There have been TT racers before, after all. But wasn’t it missing a badge? One beginning with Q? Ending in O? ‘Uattr’ in the middle? I hope [...]

I’ve been pondering on how to approach the BMW M6′s review for about a month now. Munich’s latest M-powered super-coupe has left me deeply impressed but at the same time a little confused. I say this because if you think about it there really isn’t a car out on the market right now that compares. And [...]

BMW have undertaken a major change of platform for their 2013 North American sportscar campaign – the latest chapter in an illustrious history on the continent that stretches back over 40 years. Ahead of the introduction of the E80 next year, the outgoing E92 M3 model has been honourably retired after four seasons on point [...]

There’s naturally a direct link between the cars that I had as toys and model kits as a child in the ’80s and the cars that still stop me dead in my tracks today. I loved my 1/43rd rallycars (Audis, Saabs, Lancias), my 1/32nd Peugeot 205 T16, Matchbox Porsche K3s and fleet of F1 cars. [...]

It’s a very modern world we’re living in today and technology is advancing at an alarming rate. Chances are that the device you just pulled out of your pocket to read this very post on has more computing power than the F1 paddock in the ’90s. This never ending desire for improvement is human nature [...]

I’ve long been of the opinion that if I was pushed in to buying one standard car to use for everything, that it would be an Audi. An RS4 Avant to be precise, a car that is good in all weathers, I can carry most anything I need, tow something with it, do a track day and sleep in it. These are just some of things that I need my cars to be able to do for me. That’s no small admission given what I do for a job either, but yes, I think an Audi would fit the bill. I’ve never owned one though, limit myself to just one car? Are you insane?

You may have noticed that I sort of skipped over one very important car on the Super GT set up posts. The STI BRZ of Team R&D Sport represents all that is right about the Super GT series. From an enthusiasts’ perspective, to see a much anticipated model get converted into a mean looking racer [...]

When you see a finished product, no matter what it may be, it is hard to imagine all the planning, conceptualizing and work that went into it. Designers have always said that the best designed products are the ones that look like they haven’t been designed at all. Take for example, products made from a personal [...]

Cars are like food. Their main aim is to satisfy and fill your appetite for a variety of motoring cravings. And as of late I fell like my diet has consisted of too much boosted Japanese machinery sprinkled with the odd tasting of more tantalizing Euro exotica. So the other week I thought I’d get [...]

It wasn’t until just recently that modern muscle cars started to shed some of their uncoolness with the younger crowd. Seduction and sexiness are two traits that did not ooze from the last generation of modern muscle cars, like the 5.0L Fox body mustangs, F-body Camaros and Trans Ams. Rather than being sexy, that generation [...]

Seeing the Z-tune at the recent Nismo Festival I got bombarded with memories from my first drive of the car back when it was unveiled. Since the Z-tune kit entered the scene back in 2005, engine development and additional technology has allowed tuners to continuously fine-tune the second generation of GT-Rs, but the Z-tune will [...]

Like a proud father, I am very happy to introduce a new generation of the Ford Mustang – the Mustang RTR. I have dreamt this vision in my head for years; unfortunately, it has taken so much time for me to find the right people to help take the vision from my head to paper, then [...]

Costing close to double the price of the base GT-R the SpecV certainly needs to be a very special car to warrant all that extra money. With the promise of a more focused and tighter handling package, not to mention top of the line carbon brakes, there was only one thing to do, head to [...]
